Rumoured EPCOT attractions surface

Pink Cadillac

Giga Poster
Only rumours, but:

- Universe of Energy is getting a GotG ( guardians of Galaxy ) overhaul, green lit.
- Wonders of Life might get a GotG phase 2, not yet green lit.
- Communicore (outside of mouse gear and starbucks, possibly club cool ) will be updated/overhauled, green lit.
- Mission Space will get a refurb/update, green lit.
- There are plans for Imagination, but not green lit yet.
- The Land and Seas pavilions as well as Test Track and Space Ship Earth will remain as is.

Ratatouille and TRON rides have also been whispered too.

Mess. But Future World is in dire need for an upgrade.

Florida's Tower of Terror is safe!

But why on earth would you need two GOTG attractions? Especially since the Life pavillion is just begging for an Inside Out attraction. They also already have a Tron attraction (the renovated Test Track).

Just don't screw with World Showcase too much, okay? Maelstrom was such a gem...

What a relief hearing Florida's Tower of Terror was spared.

GoG seems like a good fit in Epcot than in any other park but saddened they chose Universe of Energy; Bill Nye is god.

I highly doubt they have any space to build a Tron light cycle coaster like Shanghai, but I'm not crossing it out just yet.

Curious what they could do for a Ratatouille attraction.

In conclusion, not bad.

I was under the impression that the Orlando parks couldn't build any Marvel attractions?

I think its for those properties that Disney doesn't fully own such as X-men being 21st Century Fox and Spiderman being Sony?

Well, I mean, GotG wasn't the upgrade I was expecting, but ok...?

At least they're finally getting a refurb.

Disney own those characters, and they are licensed to Fox and Sony for films - but not theme parks. Universal have the licence for Marvel's characters in Orlando, but it could be they're unable to add characters not included in the licensing packaging of the time they signed up, which would include Guardians of the Galaxy.

Yeah Robbie has summed up the rights malarkey. Basically any character the universal parks haven't touched, Disney can use.

I'll be sad to see Ellen's nightmare: the ride go, I do love it. However I realise that's not a popular opinion and it's a tad dated.

I suppose turning a futuristic space area into Guardians of the Galaxy themed shouldn't be too hard. Kinda interested to see what they'll do.

Yeah, from what I understand, Disney cannot use a theme, IP or character that is already being used in the Universal Parks - hence why the Avengers monorail was never allowed to go on the line that passes through Epcot (as far as I've been told). But, they are allowed to add IP's that aren't in use.
