Why hello everyone. As some of you know my birthday was this past week, and we decided to celebrate by going to Schlitterbahn, rated #1 water park in the world by the Travel Channel, and Six Flags Fiesta Texas.
Day 0: We headed off Wednesday afternoon around 1 on our trip to San Antonio. We looked around for about three hours trying to find a decent hotel. After which we ate at a restaurant named "Gruene's Fish and Grill"
DAY 1
My birthday, August 20th. We woke up around 9:00 and got to Schlitterbahn about an half hour after it opened. This is a pic we took at the entrance.
As you could only guess I'm the one on the right. The wave pool there was absolutely amazing and the slides were great. Lack of pictures can be blamed on my sister for leaving the camera in the locker.
Day 1 was fun but it was Day two I was excited for.
DAY 2
What I was anticipating.......
SIX FLAGS FIESTA TEXAS!!!!!
Ok this was definitely the highlight of the trip. These pictures were all taken by me, and I was getting some funny looks because this was my sister's camera and it's strap is very pink, and it felt so awkward when I was taking pics. As it was the first coaster we saw and one of the most popular rides there we headed for
Goliath
8/10
A great Batman clone and it was pretty forceful too. I think the downside was that is was only running one train, but we got on in about a half hour due to a fast chain lift. I loved the color scheme too it was just so eye catching. My sister and I had a argument about how she didn't believe it looked like Batman when I told her it was. She's pretty stubborn.
After Goliath I saw something that made me cringe and decided I better get it over with so we went on
Boomerang: Coast to Coaster
4/10
A standard Vekoma boomerang, and a horrible one at that. The ride was so rough and the line had absolutely no shade at all which sucked considering the fact it was about 105 degrees at that time. I had a headache for about a half hour afterwords. I couldn't believe the line for it too. For a coaster that bad, it had almost an hour wait.
My mom absolutely HATES coasters. But we forced her to get onto
Road Runner Express
7.5/10
Not a bad coaster. About a 40 ft. drop and some helixes onto the next chain lift which ended in about a 25 ft. drop into 4 straight helixes. Not a very bad line but the queue walkway was REALLY long. It took us 5 minutes just to get to the actual station. Pretty decent.
Then, the only wooden coaster in the park,
The Rattler
9.5/10
We rode this twice due to short lines. This one was a walk on even though the queue was super long just like RRE and it was really narrow. Once we saw the loading station we were shocked at the short line. First we rode in the back, which was a horrible idea because it was super rough. It was fun nonetheless. My back had been hurting and after the ride on the back I felt a whole lot better. Then after the back went right to the front due to no line. The front was not even close to being as rough as the back was, but still a great ride.
After Rattler it was my dumb idea to ride an Enterprise named the Wagon Wheel. After which we all had our stomachs start to hurt also due to the heat and lack of eating. So we took it easy and rode the The Gully Washer, a roaring rapids ride, during which I got soaked by the waterfall (which they almost didn't use due to drought conditions). After that we headed toward Johnny Rockets to eat which as located right next to the most highly anticipated coaster of the day......
Superman: Krypton Coaster
+10/10
What can I say about this coaster. It was AMAZING!! I personally think this was better than Dommy and it cracked my Top 10. First ride was basically a walk on due to the immediate need of two people. This was on the back and my first ride. The loop was INCREDIBLE!!! The helix was nice too, and the Zero G roll was nice too. and after the final corkscrew, we got a little pop of airtime leading into the final brake run. Afterwords we got my sister after she was done eating and went on the front for a ride. Just as amazing as the back, except we felt more airtime towards the final brake run.
A pic of the loop with Superman chilling on top
Not very good I know.
After Superman we headed to the last coaster of the day
Poltergeist
9/10
A good Spaghetti bowl coaster. The launch took me by surprise because there was no warning or anything. Pretty forceful, and we got my mom to ride this too, how I will never know. I loved how it had no brake run, just a short section of straight track, after which we flew into the last corkscrew which I COMPLETELY forgot about and it took me by surprise.
After Poltergeist I wanted one more ride on Superman so I rode in the front one more ride.
After my final ride we decided to skip Tony Hawks Big Spin because the heat was becoming UNBEARABLE!!!!! So our ride count for the day,
Boomerang x1
Goliath x1
Road Runner Express x1
Rattler x2
Superman: Krypton Coaster x3
Poltergeist x1
Got back at about 7:30 after hanging with some old friends we hadn't seen in years just outside of San Antonio. The drive home was considerably shorter due to the avoidance of Austin traffic by taking a toll road that lead ALL the way to Waco, which is about 1 1/2 hrs. outside Dallas.
And for those of you who are wondering, I did turn 14.
Hope you enjoyed this report.
