Psyké Underground V Turbine

Thankfully the park made the right decision to reopen this classic coaster ( the only one of it's type in Europe so it should be saved of course)

Now it's been given a makeover with a new launch system, lights etc has this made it a better ride than what "Turbine" was.

Does the launch feel more forceful using LIM's than the "Flywheel" system.

I've only ridden it as Psyke Underground and I think it's great, I feel like most coasters that are enclosed are better overall experiences. However I do hear from most people that the flywheel launch was much more forceful and therefore a better ride experience overall. I have also ridden a flywheel version but I didn't find that much difference between the two launch systems.

Since I never rode Turbine, I can't say whether it's better or not now. However I can tell you that the LIM launch is nowhere as forceful as a flywheel launch. The train only makes it half way up the front spine and barely goes up the back one. The ride overall was a bit disappointing for me as I was expecting a bit more in lighting effects. That being said, we (Ian and I) were informed by park management that they also want more/better effects and will be making changes during the 2013-2014 off-season.
Here's the POV so you can see for yourself what I'm talking about as far as the speed and lighting effects.

I've done aswell Turbine as Psyké Underground and I think it is pretty difficult to see which of the rides is the best.

Turbine had a great launch, forcefull, brutal and loud. The LIM launch has a slow start and doens't go from 0 to 85 kmph as Turbine did. But actually, when the ride hits full speed, it still feels pretty fast and brutal as it did before. And of course, the best part of the ride is still alive: the intense loop.

If I had to make a decision which is the best...Psyké Underground!
