Potential Sega Joypolis theme parks in the UK and USA?

Hi guys. I just saw this very interesting item of news regarding Sega and their Joypolis theme parks. They have apparently expressed desire to build more Joypolis locations, and two places on their radar are the UK and North America. Where things get interesting, however, is that they are reportedly scouting for UK locations right now.

So could we possibly be getting a Sega Joypolis indoor theme park somewhere in the UK?

Certainly a very exciting possibility, if you ask me!

Is this the same thing as what we used to have in the trochadero? Fond memories of being let loose in that gaff as a kid.
It’s not dissimilar, but I think possibly slightly evolved.

Some of the newer Sega Joypolis theme parks have some pretty advanced attractions; for example, Tokyo Joypolis is home to the very unique Gerstlauer spinning coaster Gekion Live Coaster: https://rcdb.com/5256.htm

And the former Sega Republic in Dubai (now known as VR Park Dubai or PVRK in publicity material) is also home to a Gerstlauer spinning coaster, albeit not as much of a unique one as Tokyo’s: https://rcdb.com/6250.htm

So I think it might be fair to guess that if this Joypolis park has any coasters at all, it’ll probably have a Gerst spinner!

Out of interest, was Sega FunWorld in the Trocadero the bit of it that had rides in it, or was it a different bit?
