Plopsaland de Panne and Bellewaerde - in a day?

They are only something like 25 miles apart, so they're definitely do-able in a day for the credit stops, but I dont really want to do that.

I like to spend some time in parks, doing most, if not all the attractions they have, and soaking up the atmosphere etc, then I can give an honest opinion on what the park is like.

So is it possible to do them both in a day when you look beyond the coasters, and think about them as an actual park/day out?

I'm definitely going to Plop, as it looks proper fab, but I'd like to go to Bellewaerde too as it also looks like a really nice little park, but not nice enough for me to go all the way back down there on another trip (if you get what I mean).

Also, I'd like some opinions on Bellewaerde. Is it a nice park? It certainly looks it.

Not that it helps you at all, but I wouldn't mind a few opinions on Bellewaerde as well. I've pretty much decided to skip it (going to Plop though) when I'm over that way in a couple of months, but, like you, can't see myself making a trip to the area again any time soon.

I think Plopsaland has enough for at least 3/4 of a day (especially with a new indoor area of the park opening this year, but it is aimed at the youngest of kids from what I can tell), but it depends on how busy it is when you go. You could turn up and have to queue forever for something like the forest of plop (it has great theming and a random tune but somehow manages to get stupidly long queues) or the queues could be tiny, very hard to say.

No idea about the other park and just like Gavin I'd be intrigued to hear any details about it from someone who has been.

When I visited ianBellewaerde, it was on the final day of my 2008 Belgium tour, it was pissing with rain and I was tired, so perhaps my view of the park may be a bit skewed.

I would say that it's a cross between American Adventure and Chessington in terms of theme and atmosphere. The areas are nicely put together, with a distinct theme in each and a half decent ride selection.

The two coasters were nothing special. The ladybird one wouldn't operate in severe rain but was on in drizzle. The boomerang was meh. Been on one, you've been on them all.

There were a couple of other notable rides. I did my first topple tower here. I didn't like the ride as it was too sickly for my poofy disposition, but the area in which it sat was gorgeous. The shot tower was pretty good, had a half decent theme and a punch to it.

The rapids looked brilliant, although unfortunately they were shut.

Out of all the Belgium parks that I have visited, I found this one to be the most pikey. There was an underlying Camelot feeling to it; it was pleasant enough, but I wouldn't trust them to look after my first born.

Food was good but there was a really long wait for it despite the park being empty. The staff, not only in the restaurant but the rides ops as well, seemed uninterested and unhelpful even though I was trying to communicate in broken French with them.

Would I go back? Yes, but not for a while. If I had visited on a sunny, dry day, then I probably would have enjoyed it more, but from what I've seen, it doesn't have the same return appeal as Plopsa or Bobbejaanland.

My problem with Bellewarde is the ticket price. It seems to be a hell of a lot of money for what's there. I had the opportunity to go there on the way back from Holland last year, but decided not to bother for that very reason.

I went to Belle in 2008. My parents were doing a booze cruise and dumped me there for two hours, which was enough.

It's worth visiting, and is a fairly nice park (there's more there than I thought, such as a Mad House and the fab bendy rapids). In 2 hours I did most of the rides, but to be fair it was EMPTY. I think doing both in a day is very possible, but then again, me and Ben did Plopsaland AND Bagatelle in a day, but that was a rush.
