Pleasure Island: New Website

Pleasure Island launched their new website earlier today.

IMO it looks great; it's clean, informative, consistent in design, easy to navigate and has some very nice graphics. Granted a few pages are a little sparse, but the site in general looks the part and finally gives Pleasure Island a strong web-presence. Nice to see a personal note from Melanie on the news page too!

They've spent very little in terms of ride investment this year, but it is clear that the park aren't cutting any corners with their marketing. I'm actually quite impressed!

Here's their new TV advert too; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vR3b4ybvDks

I quite like the advert, it makes Shrieksville look half decent. The voiceover man doesn't seem too excited about it though.

The website is certainly pleasant compared to what it looked like, I'm glad to see them making an effort after appearing to have no certain direction for the past few seasons.

A new website and advert doesn't make me want to make the 526 mile round trip through, but I'm sure it'll encourage those more local to do so. The more locals through the gates paying the fairly reasonable £18 entrance fee, the more money they will have to invest.

Whenever I see the name Melanie Wood, I want to make a joke about the state of my penis after penetrating a cantaloupe.

I feel that the TV advert could benefit from some more use of the word "magic".

The site is very good and well done to them. It's a 30-mile round trip to me and is still only a once a year park right now I think.

I wish it well as it's my local park and I have many happy memories from my childhood there. It seems to be going in the right direction under Melanie, who I have spoken to several times. I think as far as its resources go, it has an exciting future as a park.

Well thank god it's better than Fantasy Island's new site.

I sneezed with a mouthful of tuna sandwich the other day, and the resultant fishy-paste-half-chewed mess on my desk looked better than Fantasy Island's new web page.

It's a really nice, tarty website that does the superb job of making the park look much bigger and better than it is in reality.

Don't get me wrong, I had a really great day there with the family; it was excellent. It's just a very middling kind of park and the website makes it look much higher class than it is in reality.

I hope it works out for them, they've got the foundations of a great park, now, they just need to move it somewhere close to where people can get at it... ;)

In other news, I guess it means I should really give them a page on the new site too - chore :(
