Strata Poster
Well - ok - it was Brean Leisure park, from last Saturday, and the first of the 2 parks I visited over the bank holiday weekend (the other being wickstead - quite a distance between them, but that's the way it worked!!)

left norwich on the 5am train, arriving at about 11ish, had a minor hiccup collecting my wristband, when I'd changed names on the system!

The park was looking lovely and green

wasn't as bad as the awful machine at Hayling Island

Then it was time for the first of the 2 main reasons for going

The ride itself was quite nicely themed, if a bit too dark inside - going up the lifthill there are tv screens telling you to abandon mission, before a "signal lost" at the top.


Then the other main reason for going:

Best ghost train ever!! gonna keep it all a secret though so It doesn't spoil the surprise!

Last on the creds list were a big apple:

I then watched the cup final (who decided to put it on at bloomin tea time, in the middle of the season??), and moved onto my hotel in northampton, for much needed sleep!

Haha! Brean is so classy. Brother-of-girl-friend-of-lager-drinking-brother-in-law_furie (bogfoldbil_F) has a caravan at the Pontins site right next door. She couldn't understand why I didn't share her enthusiasm towards the place. She was all "oooh, I love Brean, it's such a great place" and I was like all "it's dump bogfoldbil_f" and she was like "no way" and I was all like "way" and she was just like "no way" and I was still all like "way" and, well, it's gets a little tedious after this point.

Good report though, I didn't find the Pinfari too bad to be honest - though I wasn't in a rush to go on it a second time. Glad to hear the Ghost Train is as disturbing as ever :)

If you feel like donating piccies of Astro Storm for me to put onto the Brean park guide, it would be much appreciated? Just send them (the originals preferably) to furie at coasterforce and I'll upload them and write the guide page today (how's that for service?) :)

No way! Two for a £1??? Vomit with excitement at such a good deal maybe! ;)
 
The place isn't that much of a dump really. That market are thing isn't actually in the park. Compared to most other seaside parks, it was very clean, neat and tidy. Though I guess it doesn't have that 'charm' that most seaside parks have, even when they're a dump, they've just have that weird charm about them. Brean is just a fair ground really.

Though its disgusting how much they charge, and on top of that, how many up-charge attractions there are.
 
^I wouldn't call it a dump, but it feels very very poor and the type of crowd it attracts are like something you'd see in a Shane Meadows film. And the pikey market that you can see from the Big Apple is fab, as is the concentration camp on the other side of the fence.

It's so gross and like.....stuck in a time warp or something?

Exactly! You even get free discharge thrown in, bargain!

The park looks as attractive as the knickers do, although the ride line-up isn't the worst ever.

This report has actually made me want to visit the park (not for the knickers, i'm sure they'll have sold by the time I get there) I just want to know what happens on the Ghost train! and collect some nasty looking credits while i'm there.

Do we have some Wickstead pics on the way too?
 
Just watched a POV of the ghost train on YT to see what the fuss is about, as I've heard loads of people talk about it in the past as well.

Not that you'd need to, but please remind me to never, ever, set foot anywhere near that thing! I seriously wouldn't sleep for weeks.
 
^Lol, did you watch Will's POV? It's just me laughing at everything and Will screaming at his own reflection, never gets old.

I don't remember the floor being green, is that a fairly new thing?

Glad to see they've made some effort for Space Invader though, wasn't expecting them to actually enclose it and theme it.
 
It was some randomer's one that I watched last night. Just found Slayed's, and watched that. It was much better quality, and pretty amusing. Still can't find Willy screaming at his own reflection though :(

Ah, that ghost train is amazing, I loved queueing for it and seeing all the trains returning to the station with screaming crying children haha XD AJ **** himself at the bit where the barrels 'fall' down too <3
