Well - ok - it was Brean Leisure park, from last Saturday, and the first of the 2 parks I visited over the bank holiday weekend (the other being wickstead - quite a distance between them, but that's the way it worked!!)
left norwich on the 5am train, arriving at about 11ish, had a minor hiccup collecting my wristband, when I'd changed names on the system!
The park was looking lovely and green
yes - the whole place was covered in green tarmac
first cred was the brain rattling shockwave:
wasn't as bad as the awful machine at Hayling Island
Then it was time for the first of the 2 main reasons for going
ASTRO STORM - formerly space invader 2 at blackpool
just without the long claustrophobic queueline
and here is the lovely modern car
hmmm - SI8.... remains of it's previous incarnation?
The ride itself was quite nicely themed, if a bit too dark inside - going up the lifthill there are tv screens telling you to abandon mission, before a "signal lost" at the top.
Then the other main reason for going:
Best ghost train ever!! gonna keep it all a secret though so It doesn't spoil the surprise!
Last on the creds list were a big apple:
which I wasn't sad enough to ride
and a spinning mouse
which was just like all it's brothers and sisters
Other rides:
mirror maze
in case you forget where you are!
bouncy bouncy, with a long ride cycle
WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! - long ride cycle again!
and the one's I didn't do.
the log flume which it was too cold for
spin and spew
disco fever, without the disco (ie fever - was down)
whooshy whooshy - didn't fit!
I then went for some light entertainment:
Apparently, "traditional" means about 1/3 of the machines don't work
Apparently, "retro" and "Old skool" means about 1/3 of the machines don't work
The final classyness was seen through the big apple coaster:
YEP - A car boot sale / market, selling all sorts of tat, including
KNICKERS!!!
With yellow staining!!
I then watched the cup final (who decided to put it on at bloomin tea time, in the middle of the season??), and moved onto my hotel in northampton, for much needed sleep!
