Passengers were left hanging upside down for almost 30 minutes, after an amusement park ride broke down in Vaughan, in Ontario, Canada.

Footage from TikTok shows the malfunctioning ride inverted with riders still on board, as people look on in shock from the ground.

The park's maintenance team responded to the incident and managed to bring all passengers down and assessed by first aid staff. Local media reported that two guests complained of chest pains before being released without any need for further medical attention.

The ride remains closed and an investigation is now under way.

I did sadistically enjoy the first 5 seconds of that video.

But i pretty much won't go on rides now that have the potential to be stuck in horrific positions. Went on Rage at Adventure Island (Southend) recently because despite that getting stuck on the vertical incline, it's actually pretty comfortable laying down if you're going to be there for 30 minutes (unless the weather is unfavourable and you're being water boarded/cooked alive).

"Is everyone doing ok?" is the most Canadian disaster response possible.

I like this kind of rides. On the plus side the safeties all worked and as it looks no one was injured.

On my visit to Canada's Wonderland in June poeple got hysterical after we got stuck on Tundra Twister for 15 minutes after the ride cycle as the passenger platform refused to go up. Of course not compareable to this mishap but some poeple maybe should not ride these kind of thrillrides. Back in the day on the HUSS Ranger at the funfair it was of course "no loose articles" and when the ride ops stopped the ride upside down, put on his helmet and collected the small change falling out of riders pockets - while the riders hung upside down by those lapbars for one or two minutes...
