Do you know any odd rollercoaster facts?

Did you know PortAventura's Furius Baco and Thorpe's Colossus are exactly the same length to the exact inch? Check it out for yourself if you can't believe me.

The Legend was based on a short story, "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow".

Maverick was based off the old TV series, which happens to be a favorite of Mr. Kenzal.

You are safer on a Rollercoaster than on a aircraft.

So that means you are more likely to die going to a theme/amusment park!

^ Huh? if its safer than an aircraft how do u have more chance of dying? Unless you mean driving to a themepark? An aircraft belive it or not is the safest way of transportation.

^No, it's not. But it's perfectly safe.

^I don't get it, but let's get back on topic here.

Raging Bull was based on the beast that terrorized the people of the old west.

B&M website says their standups are smooth.

The "Magnum is sinking" rumor was created by a local newspaper as a April fool's joke.

Cedar Point had a 3 coaster contract with B&M. But there were issues with it so they only recieved 2. This might be the reason why we haven't seen a B&M built there in a while.

Turnpike Cars at Cedar Point originally had 2 dualing tracks, making a highway. When Raptor was built in 1994, Track "Alpha" was quietly moved to the newly aquired Dorney Park. Road rally anyone?

Statistically, you have a higher chance of dying when flying than when riding a roller coaster. That what they mean.

Xcelerator is the only Intamin Accelerator coaster to enter its top hat from the left.

The Matterhorn in Disney California is the 1st coaster to use tubular steel for tracks.

DLP have the only Space Mountain that has inversions.

Enigma at Pleasurewood Hills is the only Schwarzkopf Jumbo V there has ever been.
It still confuses me why it just says "Jumbo V" on the MHP but meh.

There is a half-sized basketball court inside Matterhorn in Disney California.

SpeedMonster was originally intended to be yellow and feature four inversions; later in the design process, the first corkscrew was changed to an S-hill.

TusenFryd actually understates the amount of G's on SpeedMonster. The posters say 4G, the readings read 5.

PMBO is the northernmost hypercoaster in the world.

PBB Ltd. built two clones of their rides in India.

Cyclone at Nicco Park is a copy of the demolished Cyclone at Southport.

Zipper Dipper (Esselworld) is a clone of Zipper Dipper at Blackpool.

Speaking of Zipper Dipper, nobody knows for sure who built it. It was either Charlie Paige, or Harry Traver. Both worked on the Texas Tornado at Morecambe while working for the Pleasure Beach :)

At the top of Mean Streak's lift hill are carved the names of a former carpenter's family and family dog.

I know this as I graduated with one of his daughters.

This is probably already known by everyone.

There are tunnels built under Disneyland for cast and staff to travel between each area of the park.
The tunnels aren't actually underground they are at ground level and the park was built on top so when you're at Disneyland you're not at ground level but in fact the second floor up.

For it's periodic rehabs the Mark Twain Riverboat at WDW-Magic Kingdom leaves the "Rivers of America" area, passes through a swing-bridge the Magic Kingdom Railroad crosses, into a lock, past another drawbridge, along a channel, across the Seven Seas Lagoon past the Contemporary to a service area / boatyard behind the ToonTown County Fair area.

A quick correction, you are thinking of Walt Disney World, not Disneyland.

It was actually Disneyland that spurred this concept, as staff members from different themed sections of the park had to travel through other sections in order to enter or leave the park.

This meant that jungle themed staff from Adventureland would pass through Fantasyland, destroying some of the theme.

In order to ensure the integrity of each sections theme, these underground passages were built with WDW.

Pleasurewood Hills can only send a train out on Wipeout every 7 and half minutes due to a restriction placed upon them by the local council. This was put in force to bring the ride's noise levels down to a more reasonable occurance rate.
