Harbin is a large city right up in the north of China famous for it's Ice Festival and its wonderful mix of Russian and Chinese culture. The city has a few small amusement parks although nothing to write home about. However it looks like the Wanda group plan on changing that with their Harbin City Culture And Tourism project. The project contains an indoor ski centre a shopping mall and a large outdoor theme park.
Canyon Models have produced a stunning fully working model for the new park which is currently on show at the Harbin Exhibition Centre. Featuring a fully working Coaster Dynamix inverted coaster as well as a ski slope which splits apart to show it's innards it is truly a work of art.
No coasters have been officially confirmed as of yet so it could go either way with either cheap knock offs of some decent western coaster but at the moment it looks like a great project. My one concern is how the coasters will cope with the freezing temperatures experience that far north (it was -28 degree C when I visited).
