Movember

It's November...no, it isn't. Amongst us men it's MOvember! Who is growing a moustache for charity to raise money for prostate and testicular cancer? I'd love to see the moustaches you're growing for this fantastic cause!

I can't really grow facial hair. At all. But suddenly this summer I could actually grow bumfluff, so I've decided to use this month to see how much I can actually grow (if I tried it at any other time of the year, people would probably think I liked children).

Here's a picture I took a picture two days ago (10 days in). Proof that I really can't grow much at all.

Facial hair is disgusting, admittedly so is testicular cancer so I guess it all makes sense?

The recentish decision to spell November incorrectly is nothing more than irksome. Especially when considering we should be remembering the 5th and 11th of Nov not Mov. A national day of pyromania encouragement is much better!

I've not done it purely to avoid awkward questions about ''how much money I've raised'' and then having to explain I'm just doing it because I'm lazy and bowed to peer pressure.

That and when I don't shave for a few days I get ARE YOU DOING MOVEMBER?!

I have to say Ciall that is disappointing ;) Mine is fuller and darker and I'm like years younger....I think, I'm 18 XD

Good point, good point. I also agree with you that there other more important things to remember in November. But it IS for charity...Yes the Poppy Appeal is for charity too....I hadn't really thought of that...I bought a poppy though so my conscience is clean :p

My body was more interested in making me tall than bodily hair during puberty ;) I got my first armpit hair when I was 18 (there's still almost nothing there) and aside from head, arms, legs and gonads, I'm virtually hairless ;)

I'm not doing movember, I just decided to grow a beard a few months back - this is it below, it had a trim (hair clippers on number 2) on 25th October but moustache was untouched.

As you can see, I can't grow a **** tash, but the rest of my beard grows like a hobos.

^ It was only in the last year or so that hair started to grow under my nose. Don't worry, Pierre, tashness will come to you soon enough.

Although I can appreciate the awareness and money raised, I don't go in for charity fads. Children in Need, Movember, Comic Relief, Stoptober etc...they can all suck my balls.

^This.

Phone up and donate a fiver to Comic Relief; sit back and feel smug about how giving and generous you are for the next 24 months.

I completely agree, Ian. I only do charity if it's hours I'm doing, not just shoving money towards a 'charity'.

Yeah... I gave up. My tash looked dreadful and I could tell it was disturbing people.

Shaved it all off yesterday. I feel much better without it all. Maybe Ill give it another go next year when I can grow facial hair faster.

I'm getting tempted to get rid of it. I look like a serial pedophile. It makes me feel ill....

A history teacher once said:

Mr Kinloch said:
I am all for giving to charity, but I don't feel I have to become inflicted myself to show it off.

And really, he got it spot on.

^Exactly.

The charities couldn't give a flying **** about how much personal time and effort went into some event; they just want/need the cash so they can get on with the job in hand. Anything else does nothing but serve the ego of the person involved by allowing them to publicly demonstrate how much they care.

^ What I do with my Saturday evenings is none of your business.
