Many notice the listing of different coaster elements and sensations at the top of each Mitch Hawker ballot, having balloters rank the experiences:

Abrupt Airtime
Out of Control Feeling/Directional Changes
Positive G's/Loops
Floating Airtime
Sensation of Speed
Lateral Forces

So what are your top choices? I've limited folks to be able to choose up to 3 options (there are 6 total), and would be interested to see how the poll shakes out.

I'd rank them (favorite to least favorite):

Floating Airtime (only sustained though, little floater pops do little for me)
Abrupt Airtime
Out of Control Feeling/Directional Changes
----------------------------------------------
Positive Gs/Loops (pretty much tied with speed)
Sensation of Speed
Lateral Forces

Floater is by far my favourite; The floater on Nitro, leviathan, Behemoth and Silver Star is ridiculously good.

Abrupt airtime is second, but not too abrupt. EGF, Helix, Colossos, and Skyrush are examples of Abrupt airtime done well. El Toro (SFGAdv) is too abrupt. Skyrush is a great example of how it should be done on an extreme scale, but it's slightly ruined by the restraints.

Out of control is my third choice. Balder Dash and Goliath being great examples of this.

I think my taste changes quite a bit for wood and steel, so I'l split them up.

Ranking abrupt/ejector air for steel coasters is pretty tough for me, as I've yet to ride an Intamin hyper or any other steel coaster that focuses on ejector air. Magnum XL-200 is the only hyper I've ridden with real ejector air, but my experience on it was negatively affected by the pain from having my legs crushed against the lapbar.

Abrupt Airtime - Skyrush, Helix, Colossos and Piraten all delivered this brilliantly.
Floating Airtime - I'll re ride a good floater all day if I find one, Colossos and Silver Star being prime examples.
Positive G's - Certain B&Ms provide lovely G's and I'm a sucker for a good drop with some sick positives in the pullout.

Out of Control Feeling
Floater Airtime

Ejector and the out of control feeling are probably the top two, especially when you have both elements in one ride (i.e. Boulder Dash).

For the third I couldn't decide between floater or positive g's. I've experienced far more (and greater) positive g's than floater (i.e. Nemesis), but there are also some positive g's that are quite unpleasant (i.e. Smiler). I went with floater airtime because I haven't really experienced bad floater airtime, despite not experiencing much. Plus Nemesis is really the only coaster I've ridden that had phenomenal g's throughout the ride.

Sensation of Speed - I love going fast, simple as.
Floater Airtime - My no.1 coaster does this brilliantly so it has to be up there.
Out of control - I love anything that throws me around a bit, without being too rough.

Positive G's and forces i'm not too fussed about. Im yet to ride a coaster with ejector airtime worth mentioning, perhaps when I have that would be higher up the list.

It is interesting to see that floating airtime takes the most votes as it is most consistently in folk's top three. We hear so much about abrupt airtime but it is not the case with this poll.
