Manchester Starflyer

It's the same one that was in London during the Olympics.

I think it will do well actually. I can't see people making a special effort for it, but it's in a really busy area. Is there much to really look at from there though? Having said that, that ferris wheel thing ended up staying for about 8 years or something despite being in an even crapper location (great view of the roof of the Arndale Centre), so why not I suppose.

They've been talking about getting a larger wheel for Piccadilly Gardens, so maybe this is just testing the water a bit and/or generating a bit of cash for that. Just a guess.

Anyway, I won't be bothering with it.

Yep. Same mindset as me. Good for them or trying to generate more tourism in Manchester that's not a museum, but still, it's a **** Star Flyer...

^Yeah, basically. I just don't get it at all. I like Manchester, I really do, but there's **** all to actually look at in terms of architecture or skyline, except perhaps the town hall, which you won't be able to see from there anyway.

But like I said, that wheel ran for 8 years, and this will be seen as more of a thrill ride than an observation ride, so **** knows.
