Basically Patrick (Mission 2) was originally down for just Wednesday night and Thursday (for Thorpe). Due to silly tube strikes he was unable to catch the last train back home so he stayed down for an extra night and we decided to hit some Merlin attractions to abuse the pass a bit.
As we usually do we started by getting a train at Grove park (as you can see in the below picture). We got on the train at like 12:20 because I got up well late (I blame question time the night before).
I also took a myspace pic but some devil child got in it.
First stop was London Bridge. So what did we do? Of course, the London Dungeons! We went straight in because of the annual passes (probably pissed some peeps in the not so long queue line).
We both loved it. There were parts that I don't remember at all but were so fun, especially when some woman screamed when she got scared in one scene lol. The judge was hilarious too. One peep she chose happened to be from Sydney and she told him that peeps were sent there and not meant to come back, was rather fun. One thing I have to admit though is that Extremis wasn't as good as I remember it being, maybe it's only good the first time because you don't know what to expect? Anyway, good fun.
We were hungry so we hunted down the Nandos in the area. We walked past this church (though have been recently informed via my mum's friend on Facebook that it's actually a cathedral, what's the difference [/rhetorical question]).
We also spotted this awesome stone wall but they were ruining it by attaching a modern building to it, gah.
Then we walked past this ship.
We were then finally at Nandos. This has to be the best Nandos around, look at it, it's so frickin' cool.
We then walked along the river to get to Soho (needed to go see someone). We walked past all these awesome buildings which included the Globe theatre, St Pauls and royal courts of justice.
Dragon!
It was a really really long walk but it was interesting. We even stopped at Covent Garden on the way because Patrick felt like getting an awesome cookie from Ben's cookies (seriously, if you have the chance and the money, get one, Will and Joey can both testify to this ).
Annoyingly some woman decided to order 7 boxes and it took forever so Patrick got fed up of waiting and we went straight to Soho.
On our way from Soho to Southbank we stopped at Eds because I wanted a drink and they do amazing milkshakes. Here are some pics from this amazing diner.
Those milkshakes were lush and gave us enough energy to continue our journey.
We then finally got to the Southbank which is where London eye etc is. Unfortunately there were no musicians about on Friday but there were some awesome artists and a really good Charlie Chaplin impersonator. Here is some awesome artwork some dude did.
We then headed for the London Eye. We didn't have to wait too long which was cool. We also spotted Az in the control box *waves hello to Az*. Haven't been on for ages so it was nice to see the views again. Being able to spot Wembley so clearly still shocks me but it's so cool. We also looked at how far we walked which was very scary. I only took these pics as I didn't feel like taking loads.
By the time we exited the Sealife had closed which was a shame. So instead we went into Namco Station for a game of bowling and a drink. It was a really fun game of bowling considering I started off really badly. We both got several strikes though which was cool. I somehow caught up with Patrick's score and I only ended up losing by 3 points. Here is a shaky image where you can't actually see the score
We then exited and said goodbye.
Later on I went to a party and got very drunk
Overall it was a very random yet very awesome day. Everything was so relaxed and nothing was planned and just made it more fun and spontaneous. Hope you managed to read all of this and that you enjoyed it
