I tried a donut from Krispy Kreme for the first time the other day, just to see what all the fuss is about. It was actual gross, and I ended up throwing it away.

What is all the fuss about? Do you like them, or agree with me?

They're really nice.

Far too expensive though. I'd rather get like, 15 Tesco ones <3

They are delicious though, and when people give them out at the office, I'm all over that **** like a fly.

My opinion on them is similar to Starbucks. If you ask somebody what they've got, it won't be a certain coffee or certain doughnut, it'll be a so and so FROM STARBUCKS, or so and so FROM KRISPY KREME.

That said, both are over priced, but both taste so **** good as an occaisional treat.

Get it fresh or don't get it. We had a KK store where I was for a while but it recently closed. When you get them fresh they are really good.

Nothing competes with Tim Horton's. End of story.

I only had them like, once or twice, but then the one near me closed down because they can't compete with Timmies obviously. I had a fresh donut from there once and it was quite good, but I don't find myself craving it really. I prefer Dunkin Donuts if I had to pick something other than Tim Horton's!

I must sound like such a Canadian.

British Krispy Kreme is far superior to true American Kripsy Kreme.

Why?

Variety.

In the UK, we have a LOT more variety. I assume it's because in the US to sell doughnuts you just need a brand that's been around since forever with a reputation, when they came to the UK they needed a way to set themselves apart from any old doughnut, since we aren't a nation of doughnut lovers.

That said, the cost of them makes me want to cry. They're like twice the price in the UK than they are in the USA. It's like, what... $7 or so for a dozen in the USA? It's like £9 here?

I don't really like doughnuts, but I love Krispy Kreme. They aren't much like normal doughnuts. I guess if you like normal doughnuts, Krispy Kreme might seem gross? Dunno.

Lots of yanks say "get them fresh or don't bother" because they don't have the fun flavours we get. **** original when you can have chocolate filled ones, or lemon meringue filled, or some other absurdity.

That's right fellow Brits, the yanks don't have the chocolate dreamcake, or anything even similar. Pity them.

For the curious Americans... http://krispykreme.co.uk/doughnuts/doughnuts-new/

When Krispy Kreme was open here Across the street one way was a Dunkin' Donuts and on the other side of the street was a Tim Hortons.

Fresh KK>Tim Hortons>Dunkin Donut's>Old KK

Never had them in the UK, but that glazed **** is just way too sickly.

It's the kind of thing where you think, "Yum!" at the first mouthful, but then feel a bit sick and gross after finishing the donut.

They're no where near as bad as Merlin park donuts for "YUM" after one bite followed by instant regret.

And people never learn, and buy 10. And then I get free doughnuts.

I'm fat, therefore I like Krispy Kreme.

And Joey, what are you talking about, I went to a Krispy Kreme not too long ago and got a lemon filled, chocolate, basically a variety dozen. Granted the plain glazed are the best, but the lemon filled is almost as good.

Dicks making me want Krispy Kreme now...

They're alright I guess, overrated though IMO. Don't really see what all the fuss is about. It's the same as how I view Nandos, I like it but I hate how much everyone raves about it.

I'll never refuse free KK doughnuts if people don't want them though. Ever.

I don't mind them at all, but the glazed doughnuts are absolutely terrible. Like, seriously taste like sugar-coasted cardboard.

But they're so expensive... I've not paid for any in my life, however, as my friends work there and often have boxes and boxes of the nicer ones to hand whenever I see them.

But the best doughnuts in existence (that I have tried so far) are Sainsbury's doughnuts <3 Although admittedly they used to taste a lot better than they do now.

Thats exactly how I was, except I didn't get as far as finishing it.

I think they are pretty awesome but they can't compete with a Tim Hortons Honey Curler. Mouth watering <3 It kind of sucks they shut all the ones in Canada down. I guess they tried to enter a market that Tim Hortons already had way to much control over.

You have lemon filled. We don't. We have lemon meringue filled.

But you definitely don't have the chocolate filled ones. http://www.krispykreme.com/doughnuts Unless it was a monthly special. Easter? Would have made sense. The Chocolate Dreamcake was added to the regular menu after the success of being an Easter special in the UK. Pretty sure it's the most popular one here now.

OMG Krispy Kremes are amazing. I prefer original just off the conveyer belt <3 the Bluewater store solely for that reason.

The price is awful though, but the same can be said for anything amazing like that, Millies cookies for example.
