I recently went to seaworld, and rode kraken. I couldn't help but notice these little plates under the track. I was wondering, does anyone know what they are used for?
Plans change, but in some cases after the track has been manufactured.
In Dominators case, the catwalk was removed as the interlocking corkscrews were no longer suspended over water. The plans of the ride changed, but after the track had been manufactured.
You find this on roller coasters with trim brakes, with brackets being punched into the track to hold brakes, which are later decided to not be necessary, leaving holes in the track.
