Rumors have been going around saying that the Jubilee odyssey is going to be removed at Fantasy island. Is this true or not. Post your replies here

They've just introduced a wristband system - about bloody time, too - so the park is obviously looking at the way it operates, therefore I'd find it hard to believe they'd be getting rid of their biggest attraction!

Where did you hear these rumours from? Friend of a friend's cousin who works there?

If it went so many people would not go, I mean what else is there.

Just read it properly

"Rumours have been circulating around the Ingoldmells village and amongst Fantasy Island staff that Odyssey will be removed to make way for a new arena. If the rumours are correct the ride will be removed at the end of the 2007 season. If these rumours are true it's possible that Absolutely Insane and Amazing Confusion will also be removed as these would not fit with the plans for an arena in the current location of Odyssey."

The key word is 2007 lol.

Hmm, a good enough source in my eyes, but again, it's a rumour and I don't believe it will happen anytime soon.

Its old news Ian, still happens to be on the info page but its news from 2007.

"f the rumours are correct the ride will be removed at the end of the 2007 season"

Ah right, cheers. I didn't bother to click the link...I trust Aly/IQ and take it at face value.

i dont see why fantasy island would remove their biggest attraction, but this ride is closed quite alot and there is never a queue for it, its quite out of the way.

^Its due to the weather most of the time. Being right on the North Sea coast its windy alot of the time and so it can't run in high winds.

Also its in a kip of a park which is run badly and so this doesn't help when trying to make sure the coaster is open when it can.

Yup the ride is deffinetly staying for the near future. The only way it would go would be to make way for another development.

With the introduction of wrisbtands for 2009 the ride has been rather popular and now even has queues for the first time since it opened! (Infact all the major attractions now do!).

At Island Quest we are lucky enough to know quite a few of the managers and staff by first name and they are being excellent interms of providing us with information and updates.

It appears that with Jubilee Odyssey there are taking the precautionary measure of not running the ride if the wind measuring devices on the top of the lifthill detect speeds of more than 15mph.

This is due to the number of times the ride has stalled - thankfully without riders on board.

Also; just as additional information - the park have just also about full repaint of Millenium Rollercoaster so hopefully Jubilee Odyssey will be next. :--D

Im glad the ride isnt going, but its never open when i go because of the wind from the sea :(
So ive only been on it twice. but im glad its not going anywhere... so i hope your right :)

I don't think it was ever going to be removed anyways whats the point in removing one of the main reasons for going to the park.

^ You mean, the only reason to go to the park. ;)

I've said to Aly & Chris on IQ that is a bit odd to keep all these old rumours, as people will just be able to keep bringing them up again, when they are in fact very old.

Wait...FI has a wristband system?

Yeah, they're not a bad price either at £17, its justs a shame that JO is closing around 6pm at the moment, when the rest of the rides stay open till 10pm, including the Millennium Coaster.
