Is there a thread for random coaster closures? There should be I think, anyway...

Yeah. It's in great shape and still runs well, so it'll end up at another Cedar Fair park and my guess is Michigan's Adventure. It fits in the coaster lineup there (SLC, Corkscrew, Wild Mouse) much better than what they have in Minnesota (Morgan Hyper, Twisted Impulse, Double Corkscrew, Wild Mouse).

I was just at Knott's in December but because of ridiculous lines I didn't have time to get a ride on Boomerang (and a few others). No problem, I thought, I'll be back in L.A. in the summer and will ride it then ...

^It's closing April 23rd so hurry up.

Wonder if they'll get anything in its place. I doubt it somehow.

If they get anything, recent park history suggests it will be a low capacity, cheap family coaster. They did take out the top spin behind it so there is a decent stretch of land that they can utilize there (in terms of land at this park)

Markers had popped up around the Sky Cabin at one point as well, not sure if still there, but it's still in same line where boomerang was. With no BM hypers in So Cal, it could fill a much needed gap.

But they will probably build another spinner.

Knott's is so limited on space, it seems to me a new ride is the most likely factor to take out any old ride. In fact, I believe the entire coaster of Corkscrew used to be where Boomerang is now. It was always an annoyingly short coaster. At least Boomerang doubles back on itself.
