Is Colossos at Heide Park getting rough

I have recently heard comments about Colossos at Heide Park getting rougher recently. I did'nt think intamin prefab woodies would ever get rough even this massive one. Most comments say it still has great airtime but is rough in the valley's of the drops and hills. Can someone who has been on it recently (i.e 2011 or even better 2012) answer my question because i am riding this ride for the first time in the summer and i would like to know if there are any recommendations of where to sit in the train for example?

Where have you read this? Do you have a link? I love Colossos and it would be a shame to see it get rough.. :/

I rode it last year, ie 2011. As I remember it was running as good as ever! Brilliant airtime, smooth over the hills, and rattling (like all Intamin prefabs) in the corners. Nothing unusual at all.

Was strange when we rode it. Everyone on the train before us said it was smooth yet I found it rough and it gave me a splitting head ache so much so I near enough collapsed after.

Others also found our train rough.

It was a strange feeling tbh it was like my spine was being compressed after each hill and it rattled like hell round the corners.

Still liked the coaster but one ride was enough for me that day. I was tired at the time so thought it was just due to that plus it had been shut all day and we were on about the 4th train of the day.

It's not as smooth as it once were when they opened it. The main issues that these Pre-fab woodies have is that they get rough in the turns, but the roughness also depends on several other factors, as weather, maintenance, time of day, weight of the train, etc.
I have had several rides on Colossos over the years and some have been super smooth where as other have been horrendous and given me a massive headache.

Agreed. When I rode it bounced a lot when it hit the bottom of each drop. That coupled with a lot of rattling throughout the whole time it produced a splitting headache. I really wanted to like it, but I just couldn't...

I had to ride it each time to make sure it was THAT bad :--D Nah, seriously... it was like ERT and it was raining <3 so it was a little more bearable...

Man, I sure hope not!
If so that means El Toro will get rough one day and that thing is way too fast for that.

I've actually wondered about this. Even though they are laser cut pre fab it IS wood...and would they ever start to roughen up.

^ Most likely it will stay smooth over the hills, but start to vibrate in the corners. That's how it usually ends up. Laser cut or not, it's still wood we are talking about, but if one section gets too unbearable then they have the option to order a new part piece of track without any problems.

Indeed.

That's true, I never thought of that. Instead of re-tracking they can order a new "piece" and snap it right in.
Gotta admit, pretty brilliant.
