Inferno, Tunel del Terror Warner Madrid

Mega Poster
Didn't see a review for this one, so here it goes:
Some time last season, I decided to go to Spain, just to get out of the cold weather, and enjoy some tall rides up at Warner paek(well, taller than the ones here). Anyhow, when I was walking round my way to Stunt Fall, when I saw some weird actors trying to scare people, while dancing to 'Im Sexy and I Know it', bit of a fail really. They were just advertising their new rip-off scaremaze! Inferno, tunel del terror.

It opened at 1630, the park closed at 1730, again, bit of a **** planning by the park. Anyway, after paying the 3.50€, I decided to head towards the queue line, which was very well hidden, as far away as possible from all main pathways (somewhere about Old West). I was the onlyone waiting, infact,I was the first and only rider of the day. The instructor/welcomer/ect. just told me to walk in, as no one else was going to join the queue. He briefed the instructions of don´t split from your group and stuff in his best english (how could i split from my **** group?). Anyway, once inside, nothing really happened... Basically, you walk through the old queue line of Coaster Express. One or two actors in a dark queue line. That was about it really.

I did enjoy the fact that it doesn't follow the pattern of path-room-path-room... it is just path-path-path :l: :o: :l:. It had no storyline, or one theme. There was a mummy, a bed, an old lady, some sort of weird dog and thats about all there was inside.

Theming: 0/10 No theming, or theme.
Jumpiness: 0/10 Actors didn't even bother
Storyline: 0/10 No storyline
Actors energy: -25/10 The two actors were having a nap
I do not want to walk forwards factor: 0/10 Nope, no fear, despites being alone
Where am I? Factor: 5/10 Did get a bit lost, but not too much, it was too guided by the white arrows in the floor.
Overall: -10/10 Horrible maze, rip-off

So yea, don't bother going in.

Got to say, it's good to see this review on here, it was only a week or so ago that I was doing a bit of research into this.

But, I've got to stick up for the attraction and explain a few possibilities about why some of the situations may have happened.

My bet that you was on your own is the fact that it's actually a kind of "Off-Season" so to speak and it being a quiet day. They HAVE to give you the rules, no matter what, even if you're the only one, as a cause for these attractions being open to the public, they have to show you an Illustrated version of the rules, then a Verbal too, this is a Universal ruling.

If it was indeed a quiet time for the park, they wouldn't have added all the actors that they'd have on their books, this is obvious, they'll just put in the minimal amount of performers for the minimum audience. It's a business at the end of the day.

Plus, you spoke about the randomness of scenes etc. A LOT of attractions in the world are like this, it makes sense, it's a LOT easier and more simple doing an attraction of this kind. If you do a Nightmare/Dreams/Scary Scenes type of theme, you can get away with adding anything you want into the attraction and aren't constrained by a certain theme. MPE Europe are well known for producing attractions of this nature, more well known as the creators of the Pasaje Del Terror franchise.

So, yeah, that may have explained a few things for you!

I do know all this, but it wasn't off season, it was the last weekend of hallowen and the park was full. They did have all actors, but about 5-6 of them did not bother coming out, as they were having a coffee, literaly just standing there having a coffee.

I do know about them having to repeat the rules over and over again, but the "Please stay with your group" wasn't necessary. Last time I rode a scaremaze alone they just skiped that part.

When I say that it was random, I do mean it. It wasn't like, say TotT, where you are have weird scenes, it is VERY messed up, as it would just be full of random theme elements, in the same room/path.

^Yeah, as I said, the "Random" scenes etc are a BIG hit in Europe, it's just far easier and takes less planning and such for the actual theatrical elements.

Ha. That part about the coffee made me LOL. That's so bad. To be honest, I've been in some in the UK (that I'm not naming) who have been that bad and the staff have walked into the staff areas in front of us, flooding the scene with light. It was terrible, I've NEVER allow any of my performers to do that.

I just find it very hard to believe you was the only person in ALL the time it was open, solely for the fact that Horror/Scare Attractions are very popular in Spain, so, yeah, I just found that excessively hard to believe (I'm not dismissing you or saying you're lying ;) ).

The randomness was beyond Europe's limit. Nothing in the UK is/was like it.

^ Trust me, there is in the UK and across Europe, I've not been IN the attractions itself, but all the promotional material/PR Material I've seen just look "Generic Scare Theme". I've been in a lot to know what the thought pattern and theme decision is in terms of designing, it's simple what they've done, gone online, researched, shopped and added whatever they find scary, a lot of people do this, sad, but true.
