This’ll be more of a photo dump than much of a report. I’d missed all of the 374 various preview events, but decided to head to the park after work on the official opening day of World of Frozen, which I knew was probably a stupid idea, but it actually wasn’t too bad.
I got to the park at around half five and just headed straight to Frozen, expecting a queue just to get into the land, but that fortunately wasn’t the case. It was still very busy though.
I went straight for the cred first. The waiting time was posted as 80 minutes, but I was on in around 50. It looks absolutely gorgeous, but that’s where it ends. It’s ridiculously short. The most entertaining part was right at the end, listening to the gasps of “is that it” disbelief from everyone on the train.
My camera doesn’t deal well with moving stuff in low light. By that I mean I’ve never bothered to learn how to take better pictures and adjust any settings on the camera.
Frozen Ever After had a posted time of 70 minutes, but actually only took half an hour. The one at Epcot was under construction when I was there, and I’ve never watched any POVs of it. It doesn’t seem to get a lot of love, but I was pleasantly surprised. The animatronics, especially Elsa, were amazing. Apparently, they’re updated from the versions at Epcot.
The ride broke down right as our boat was in the final room, so we were stuck for about 20 minutes, waiting to get evacuated. The animatronics were still running for a bit, so it was a good way to et a decent look at those before they shut everything down.
So magical:
Photo dump time.
It’s a lovely area, but there’s an element of disappointment when it comes to the rides. The coaster is just such a waste, quite possibly the biggest example of turd polishing at any Disney park. It must’ve cost a f**kin’ fortune, and it’s a very basic Vekoma kiddy coaster. Don’t get me wrong, HK Disney was in need of a kiddy coaster, but they could’ve cheaply shoved something into/next to Toy Story Land and done something better here. Frozen Ever After was decent, but it seems weird to me to clone a ride which was already a retheme of something else. I guess that 99% of visitors will have never ridden the Epcot version, so it doesn’t really matter, but there’s still something a bit lazy about it.
Anyway, I’ll stop moaning. It’s a strong addition to the park and will no doubt be the busiest area for some time to come.
