So with only a few weeks of operation left for most US seasonal parks, I think it's safe to say that, for the most part, the 2013 amusement season is starting to draw to a close. Shall we reminisce on it?
I'd like to know your...
*Best moment
*Best individual ride
*Funniest moment
*Scariest moment
*Strangest moment
*Favorite individual park visit
*Nerdiest moment
*Best non-coaster related thing to happen at a park
*Favorite new experience
*Least favorite anything (ride, visit, queue line, anything)
Feel free to answer all, some, or none. I just love hearing these things!
I'll start:
*Best moment- Winnin a queue jump pass at the GateKeeper plinko with my cousin and skipping a 3-hour opening line that was spilling out over by MaXair.
*Best individual ride: Millennium Force at night after the park closes while we were in line.
*Funniest moment: Towards Kings Island closing, both The Beast and Diamondback (their two big night rides) were packed. I went to The Beast (I think it's a better night ride than Diamondback is) and in the train before dispatch, the ride op asked "who thinks The Beast is better than Diamondback?" A bunch of cheers went out. Then he asked "who thinks Diamondback is better than The Beast?" I just hooted and clapped loudly. "Get out. Now." The ride op joked. For some reason it was hilarious.
Scariest- Getting dragged into Drop Tower by my cousin and sister because they get amusement of of my fear of heights.
Strangest- Going to KI with someone from another site and when we got to Flight Deck, it started raining. How'd I wait it out? Took a nap in the flight deck station!
Best visit: Spending 15.5 hours at Cedar Point with my cousin
Nerdiest: Tie between both times I saw the Banshee site for the first time and my first time seeing GateKeeper running
Best non-coaster- My first time eating Dollywood's cinnamon bread
Favorite new experience: As much as I hate open tower rides, I now like Power Tower's shot side.
Worst QUEUE WAIT: Spending 1.5 hours in line for Dragster with this rude lady in front of us that kept yelling at people around us. In addition to her sunny attitude, the ride hardware hurt my ears and I was nervous out of my mind since it was my first rocket AND first stratacoaster. And I know they're safe, but I DO NOT like being next to that cable during launch.
So that's my 2013. Post away!
