Gooniest article ever?

A few weeks ago, I found this thoroughly exciting article about the company that did all the concrete footpaths at Rainbow Magicland. Really handy if you want to know what concrete colours are there or the brand of protective coating they used.

Now clearly, this was written for people in the concrete/footpath trade rather than Theme Park fans. Which got me thinking... there must be tonnes of similar articles about. Can anyone find more equally goony reads?

[shifty eyes] Hahaha, how uninteresting. I didn't read it at all. [/shifty eyes]

This is quite similar to the topic Jerry set up in N&R.

Yeah, I also read it! haha!

Oh, so this is the kinda thing that Jerry's topic is intended for? I never really understood what his intention was before. I get it now. Could move this into there? I don't mind

PS. That same company has apparently done several parks, including DLRP. They obviously spent too long staring at the footpaths to notice what's actually at the park though. Can anyone spot a problem here??? http://www.idealwork.com/references/Dec ... tions.html

*Cough*

I've been looking at the paths and concrete/tarmac areas of parks for ages now. I first noticed it in Port Aventura , where each area had their own distinctive patterning. While it's not somethnig that I see as important as most obvious theming, I think it's a superb detail that really shoes class/quality.

I noticed on my first visit to Alton Towers afterwards just how piss-poor the UK was in comparison. Mixes of "brick floors", concrete and badly patched tarmac. Suddenly I realised how awful UK theme parks are. Actually, Blackpool has some decent moulded floors, as does Flamingoland I think.

I didn't read the article, because I'm only interested in if somebody has one, not who makes them or anything.

Sorry, can't think of a goonier article off the top of my head, but I'm sure I've read some here and there :)

Besides the fact they have called the park Euro-Disney Paris LOL. PLus there is the use of the Kingda Ka image.... If only that was in Paris though :-P

I do know (rather goonily) that the Disney parks utilise red toned paving in the main street areas and in front of the castle because it is the best colour for photographs to really 'pop'. They told us about it on our goony Keys to the Kingdom tour.
