Was stopping in York to visit relatives this week, so I took a trip up to Flamingoland with my dad and my sister. After a load of faffing about trying to find offers for money off entry in Malton (or more, faffing about trying to find the tourist information office) we finally got to the park at about 10:45.
So, after all that we got to our first ride which was-
Mumbo Jumbo
I have to say, the queue looked pretty short, so I was expecting a short queue. Unfortunately for everybody, the ride ops were only letting one train out at a time (despite having 3 trains out) and to add to the long wait, there were also people using q-buster. After waiting what was probably about 1 1/2 hours, we finally made it onto the ride and in all honesty it was a bit rubbish. It didn't do much for me. :x
But never mind, after some rather nice Flamingoland sausage and chips it was onto-
Velocity
This had a queue of roughly the same length, but since the trains hold 12 more people, the time was about 20-30 minutes. Velocity is still great fun, not so much as Intamin accelerators, but that's not important.
After Velocity, we did Navigator, as usual being fun but nothing special and then-
Kumali
After not having much fun on Kumali at last year's CF-Live ERT, I was rather pleasantly surprised with how good it was. I was riding front row and actually the forces were really fun particularly in the cobra roll and the zero-G roll.
Leaving Kumali, we made our way to Cliffhanger, which had an extremely slow moving queue due to the number of q-buster people being put into the ride. There were some rides where only about 5 people were taken from the normal queue. Cliffhanger seemed less forceful than usual, but still the park's best ride.
At this point we had planned to do Wild Mouse, but it seemed to have a long queue, so we skipped it. Instead we headed to Corkscrew, which was a walk on. And it was rough, but I didn't expect much else.
By now, we were about to leave, so Katy and I went on the cycle monorail to finish off the day. Dad instead opted for the Mine train coaster of death.
All in all, fun day, but large queues, some not handled well, did put a slight downer on the day.
