Fix to LC New Ride

Mega Poster
I didn't word my last topic right. What I was asking was what kind of new ride should be put in at Lake Compounce. Personally, an Intamin Mega-Lite. They have a smaller footprint than most rides, they have speed, height and airtime, and I believe they don't cost very much.

I don't know, put your voices out there!

I heard on RCDB that Mega Lites cost 15 million US dollars. Plus Lake Compounce is an old school park, not Cedar Point or Kings Island. It's like Knoebels or Waldameer. But anyway they probally can't afford it, but with Boulder Dash and they havn't gotten a new ride since, I wonder how much money they have been making from enthusiast coming to try it out! That would be awesome, but still they're an old school park.

Personally I think a GCI woodie would be a great coaster there. I think their average woodie cost 8,000,000 US dollars, so not too bad. Maybe it could interact with Boulder Dash. :D Like I said they're an old school park, but not the park for a very intense steel coaster, seeing Zoomerang is just a Boomerang model. I know GCI's are more modern, but I guess I just ment nothing steel. (With the exception of Zoomerang)

I still son't think this is worth discussing, if there was strong source that they were thinking about such an en devour then maybe we can ask the question, what should they install?

Fact is there is no plans to do such thing so why bother? We could then have a topic for every park asking that same question.

Also I'm sick of people saying that every park should have a Mega-Lite, its the first thing that comes up whenever a topic like this pops up, fact is there's only 4 of them in the world, 3 of them are in Asia, so how do people know how good they are? And why does every park need one? There's probably a small amount of people on here that have rode Piraten and even less that have rode the other 3 (I'm sure there are some people that have rode them) but most of us have never ridden one, so how do we know how good it is and why does Lake Compounce, or Thorpe Park, or anywhere else need one? There's probably only four in the world for good reason.

I never said every park needed one. I never said Lake Compounce HAS to have one. I just said that if they were thinking about a new ride, a mega-lite could work. Now that i know the cost, however, i honestly think it would be better to just leave it for now

No, but you did say LC could possibly get one. I actually get what Colossus is saying, as it does happen for EVERY small park (albeit it may not be here). Seriously, why a Mega-Lite? Why Intamin in general?

Besides, I have a feeling we wont be seeing another Intamin coaster in America for several years after their flops recently.

What Intamin coasters flopped? Skyrush, their most recent coaster, did fairly well as i heard.

We definitely won't be seeing one from Cedar Fair considering Maverick, i305, and Shoot the Rapids. Six Flags has been primarily interested in cheaper companies (Gerstlauer, Premier) and smaller roller coasters since I guess they finally found out a ride doesn't have to be a gigantic, budget raping, record breaker every time in order for people to come.

Considering smaller parks that do not have the large budgets that companies like Cedar Fair, Six Flags, Universal, and SWP&E have they're likely to pull the same strategy that Six Flags has been leaning on since they came out of bankruptcy. You can see the examples with Wooden Warrior @ Quassy, Untamed @ Canobie, and White Lightning @ Fun Spot, they just don't have the budget to afford something from a company like Intamin.

It broke itself after 6 months of operation, the crew had issues with the lift hill (hence the very slow start before launching to the proper speed), the general public despise it (by noon it was a pure walk-on on even the busiest days for Hershey), the restraints made it a public relations disaster. Hershey went big with that ride, and people were excited for it. It flopped...hard.

Practically anything built in the USA post-Millennium Force has had a massive issue, in some manner.

Didn't know that. I wasn't aware of any problems with SkyRush or i305. I knew Maverick doesn't run in any precipitation, and the problem with the heartline,
