Fast Pass Question

Edward M

Strata Poster
I am going to a few parks and am wondering about the fast pass rules!

Can you ride wherever you want on the rides at Alton Towers, Silver Dollar City, and Worlds of Fun with fast pass?

For Alton, IIRC, they assign you rows on Thirteen, Rita and Oblivion and you can choose your own rows on Air and Nemesis. The only rides where the Fast Pass puts you straight into the station are Thirteen and Oblivion.

I can't remember what it's like for SDC or WoF, although even if they do assign you seats you can always ask for another.

^ what is the usual wait for a fast pass? Or after the two lines have merged?

Also, how long is the single rider line at the rides, mainly Nemesis?

Nemesis is really quick as is thirteen and spinball works quite well, but rita and air take along time. Rita was particularly bad because when i got in the single rider queue i noticed some people go into the normal queue. 40 minutes later i saw those same people pass by me which was very annoying. Pretty much same story with air.

You should not need a fast pass for nemesis as it always has really short queues. You probably won't need one for oblivion either, but now with the opening of the smiler the queues for oblivion may start to rise. Thirteen do normal queue or single rider as the queues for that are always short too. Either do spinball first or come back later and do single rider as it gets massive queues that move really slow, if single rider line is long for this than get a fast pass. Rita and Air are musts for fast pass as they attract the longest lines, rita' s fast pass takes you right up tot he station and airs merges you with the queue, but should only have to wait around 5 mins.

^ great, I plan to re-ride Nemesis all day. Maybe 3 rides for oblivion otherwise the coasters look meh. What Dark rides are worth riding, and which have short or long waits?

Dark rides - just duel and hex, hex is usually a short wait, and I can't remember the last time duel was longer than about 20 minutes

TWENTY MINUTES??? FOR DUEL???

Was that the busiest day ever when all the other rides were shut? I once waited twenty minutes because it was closed while they made it into the "live" version for Halloween. Other than that, it's always been walk on. Even if the queue is outside the door it's only five minutes.

Hex mustn't be missed - I love Hex :)

As I said - I can't remember, in fact I don't think I've waited that long for duel - although I did wait about 20-30 minutes a few times when it was the haunted house!

One time at Halloween a few years back, the queue for Duel Live got up to past 30 minutes. I quickly walked away.

Hey, I'm gonna add another, Busch Gardens Williamsburg. Also, need to know Silver Dollar City.

One more thing, are all fast lanes at Cedar Fair parks the same? Because at Cedar Point, it was selective seating, I assume it's the same for Worlds of Fun, Carowinds, and Kings Dominion.

When I went to BGW in March with my Dad I told him we wouldn't need BG's Quick Queues. He didn't listen to me, and bought some anyway. We only used them twice, but it was completely unnecessary. But it was little crowds so all the rides were basically walk-ons.

For the QQ's, (correct me if I'm wrong) I think it's like an extra $20. You get a little card that shows all the rides you can use it with. I believe you can use it for all coasters except Verbolten, and some other rides like Darkastle, Mach Tower, and I think Europe in the Air. You can use it once per ride, but you also can use a your "bonus" ride, which lets you use it on a ride that you already used the QQ on (and you can use your bonus whenever you want).

The two rides we used it on was Darkastle and Alpengeist. All it did was just skip the first half of the lines and just lets you out at the loading stations, where you can choose where to sit (I'm assuming it's like this with the other rides). Also if the wait time for a ride is fifteen minutes or less, you can't use it (I'm not sure if it's like that all the time but at least that's what happened when I was there).

While I've only been to BGW once and not on a crowded day, I would say you're better off without the Quick Queues.
