I want to go to Holiday Park this week mostly for EGF. I have a couple of questions about it.

Does it break down a lot? I'm really scared that it will be down when I'm there, since it's a 5 hour drive, so it will be pretty expensive. It is an intamin after all, and when I went to Phantasialand recently Chiapas was down for almost 2 full days.

What is the queue time like on a thursday or friday in July? Is the park usually crowded?

What are other must rides at Holiday Park?

^Everyone I know that's ever been to the park has never had issues with it breaking down, it is in Germany after all.

Also, queues are never particularly big at the park. I went on a Sunday in June and they were running 1 train; it was still walk on. I'd imagine on a busy day with 2 trains running you're looking at a 20 minute wait.

There really isn't anything else at the park that stands out. Most rides are your run of the mill mediocre theme park rides; rapids, flume, star flyer etc. Obviously the new cred has opened since I visited so there's that to do too, and I'd do that first, it'll hold the biggest queue in the park.

In my two visits to Holiday Park, I've seen it have a couple of minor breakdowns, but never for a substantial amount of time that it really has much effect on your day. Sadly there is always the chance of it being closed because I do think that I read once it had been closed the whole day they someone was there, but i would expect it to be open.

They always run one train on it, but I usually only have to wait about 20 mins per ride. Generally I've found operations at Holiday Park pants compared to other German parks, so definitely go straight to the new coaster. Although, I did read a report over on TPR where the reporter stated that they had a new express pass system, so that may be useful if the park is busy. Can't find anything about it on their website though.

My visits have both been in July (can't remember if they were on a Thursday or Friday), but neither were crowded, just as is said before the operations aren't great. EGF is the star, but the log flume, drop tower and rapids are all pretty good which may add a bit more variation to your day. Haven't ridden the new coaster (hopefully later on this summer), but it looks really good, so I'd say that's definitely a must ride.

EGFs loading is rather more burdenous than it should be, and sky scream is GREAT!

Other rides worth doing are the star flyer and drop tower - the ghost train is awful.. (and I'm a big fan of cheesy dark rides!)
