This is going to be pretty different, as my mum took most of the pictures (thus, nobody can have a go at me about the date stamp/quality of the photos etc).

As you can see thanks to the ever so helpful date stamp, we were there over Christmas.

Even though there were hundreds of pics, i'll devide it into 2 parts.

Part 1 - Hotel/Beach etc
Part 2 - Cairo & The Pyramids

We don't normally do all inclusive holidays, but you have to in Sharm el Sheikh really. It was fab having free booze and a private beach though.

The fish were amazing! It was like swimming in a tropical fish tank.

Egypt! I've always wanted to go there haha, not so much to an all inclusive resort, but I'm glad you had a fabulous time! It looks like such an interesting place, and it has so much awesome history.

Part 2

The cheapest way to do Cairo is a 'day' trip on a coach. It picked us up on Christmas day at 11pm and took about 9 hours, so the only sleep we got was on the coach. Needless to say, we all felt like crap (and all had food poisioning, so had to take about 50 immodiums each as there was no bog on the coach).

I'm glad we were only in Cairo for a few hours, because it was DISGUSTING. I'm not a travel snob, far from it, but this city really is 20 million people living in poverty and pollution. I'm sure there are rich people, but we didn't see any...

Even though it looks like a cloudy day in these pictures, remember that this is Egypt. Clouds are basically non existant, and I can promise you that this paticular day was blue skies - however, the air quality in this city is so bad that you couldn't even see the top of some of the buildings.

There are also huge problems with rubbish being dumped. I did a bit of research, and apparently only 40% of Cairo's rubbish is collected/dealt with, meaning the remaining 60% is dumped in random places such as rivers and basically anywhere where it will fit. With 20-odd million people, that's a LOT of rubbish.

Poor kids...

The pollution is mainly caused by the millions of cars in the city, nearly all of which are old (and thus not as environmentally friendly).

We then got ripped off and were forced to take a boat (and pay extra) in order to catch the bus from the other side of the nile. If you refused, you'd have been left in Cairo. I really don't like Egyptians... a stereotype perhaps, but they mostly see you as a walking cash machine rather than a human being. Moroccans are the same, and it's not just because the countries are poor... Malaysia is hardly loaded and the people were lovely!

See the woman on the left? The pikey in the tracksuit? She's a total cow. She's one of those people who puts their chair back right in your face on the coach. If this was a certain reality show I know who'd get my vote!

We're not impressed.

Nor is she.

The Egyptian museum was alright, but you had to pay. National museums should ALWAYS be free. Robbing bastards. You also had to pay EXTRA to see the mummies so we didn't bother. They didn't even let you take a camera in either. Seeing the mask thing was pretty fab though.

We were really tired by now, and STILL had the Pyramids to go, but I was mega excited so didn't care!

Mother tried to take a photo of me and the camel in the sly, but nothing gets past these Egyptians! Needless to say we legged it, whilst he frantically waved at us for cash.

Pyramids have been my dream to see since like, grade four or so when I started really getting into Egyption history. I really had no idea that they were that tall, though!
