Alright, so first thing I have to say is this was an amazing trip but incredibly tiring too! But I’ll start with my Disney review and post the other ones up later. So, I had heard Disneyland and DCA were great parks and to expect a lot but, I was absolutely blown away. These parks were amazing. Though Disney doesn’t provide tons of high intensity rides they make up for it with their incredible themes on all their rides. The way I’m going to do this is write a small review for each ride I rode there, then post the few photos I took. (Also I’m going to mix the two parks with the review.)
Space Mountain (Biggest Surprise)
I was going into this ride expecting an alright ride with some great theme to it. I was amazed by the theme of the ride and all of the stars were incredible. Also, though you can’t see the track and I’m sure it’s not that impressive but it was so smooth which made the ride even better. The onboard audio on the ride also went with the ride perfectly and it was just great!
Indiana Jones (Favorite)
I didn’t know much about this ride besides the one review I heard from Pat McCabe on AWITP and I would agree with his review perfectly. It really makes you feel like you’re in the movie more then any other attraction I have ever ridden. Onboard audio is great, the way the cars move is great, and the animatronics and special effects just blew me away completely. This was without question my favorite ride at Disney and I just loved it.
Soarin’
I Loved this ride, the way Disney shocked me by also incorporating smells into this attraction was great. The video was done really well and I was able to sit in B1 for my last ride which is the center row, highest up which was great. So great ride and can not be missed when going out to the two parks.
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
Great family coaster and much smoother then I was expecting. I wasn’t the biggest fan of the multiple lift hills but doesn’t bother me too much cause the ride was great.
Splash Mountain
Wonderful theme and some nice animatronics. What I liked most about this ride was the fact that I barely got wet at all, literally like I walked out into the drizzling raid for 20 seconds. This also had some more drops then I was expecting and I single ridered it and got on the very first boat when I got up there, which made me happy cause I skipped a 90 minute line.
Twilight Zone Tower of Terror
I thought this was a pretty good ride, not great but good. The effects they have are pretty good and you get some good airtime on the drops but wasn’t up my alley as much as some of their other rides I guess. It is very re-ridable though and I did enjoy it a lot.
Matterhorn
Fun old coaster with some good history. It has some jerks in it here and there but I was expecting that and I like the water brakes but not much else to say about it. The mountain was pretty big and looked cool so good ride.
Pirates of the Caribbean
I was amazed by this ride. Loved all the animatronics and the catchy song! The first drop was much larger then I was expecting. My photos will help more at the end of this but great ride and a must ride by all.
Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage
Like Pirates of the Caribbean I got some photos to help show it off a little more but a fun little ride and a bit longer then I was expecting. Has some of the old stuff in it while incorporating the Nemo storyline in it.
Haunted Mansion
Fun ride with some effects that are a little old so a bit more obvious on how their done but, I liked the ride and your “ghost host” during the ride. A lot of fun and only had a 5 minute wait so it was great.
Buzz Lightyear’s Astro Blasters
I wasn’t expecting much from this but I enjoyed it a lot and it was fun to ride it again to beat your score which I did. I didn’t do as well as I had hoped though I got level 3 my first time and then level 4 the second time. It goes up to level 7 so some improvement could be one on my part.
California Screamin’
A very enjoyable coaster with some good onboard audio. The turns were banked very nicely, the launch was great and a pretty long ride. Definitely a great coaster and I loved it.
”it’s a small world”
A very catchy song as I’m sure we all know and a fun little ride with lots of animatronics and the different scenes from around the world is really fun to look around at. I’m a little mixed on the incorporation of the Disney characters that they did.
Mulholland Madness
Mouse coaster what more can I say.
Peter Pan’s Flight
A little short but it’s classic and and a lot of fun and has a few nice rooms with good scenes from Peter Pan represented.
Monster’s Inc. Mike & Sully to the Rescue
Good fun ride with the Monsters Inc. storyline very well incorporated and my favorite part of this ride was the same as my favorite part of the movie and that is all of the doors.
Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin
It doesn’t run on the main FASTPASS system which is nice and the ability to spin the car on your own is fun but other then that I wasn’t too thrilled by the ride I don’t feel like there was too much more to it.
Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride
Another good classic ride! I don’t understand as much of it as my dad did but still fun and longer then it looks from the outside.
Star Tours
A fun simulator ride but clearly a bit dated and wouldn’t be worth much of a wait for anyone. (Good thing it was a walk on.) I haven’t seen Star Wars in a long time but some of it didn’t seem so Star Wars like and more just space like. (Maybe on purpose? I don’t really know.)
Grizzly River Run
My favorite rapids ride of all time! Two drops on the ride and like most rapids ride it’s a luck of where you sit and great theme and the bear rock looks pretty cool so it’s a can’t miss at DCA.
Jungle Cruise
Another fun classic where the best part of the ride is the guides. They tell some funny but very cheesy jokes but overall even though not real animals very fun!
Now photos, sorry for some blurry or dark and all of the on ride photos were taken with permission by the ride ops and the only thing was I couldn’t have a flash.
