This is among the best-named coasters ever.

Apparently it's been running for over a year, but it's the only Schwarzkopf Katapult model operating, after hearing nothing about any of them since 2006. Looks a bit crap to be honest, but interesting to see one cropping up.

Some pictures from when it was at Mirabilandia can be found here (can't work out how to embed from the new RCDB photo viewer thing):

Those were fun little rides. They were a huge success early to mid 80s on German funfairs during the "Looping Craze". Even midsize to small funfairs could have a "Looping Coaster". On slow days they gave you seven inversions forward plus seven inversions backward. However the mechanics were quite tricky and many showmen opted for a Ranger type attraction like from HUSS or Weber.

RCDB is changing the photo links to remove embedding as it's been taking up too much of the site's bandwidth, but there's still ways to get around the changes.

Is Oman a long lost ex-Yugoslavian state by any chance? Silly people who tried on translating 'roller coaster' into basically any of the Southern Slavic languages have decided upon something similar sounding as Death Train. Perhaps the Arabs use some similar terms for calling a roller coaster?

Getting back on topic, I've always found this to be a somewhat of an interesting concept. It's a real shame that now all but one have been lost and presumably scrapped.
