CreHo-ing in Croatia

The days around 1st of May are usually the time when the school holidays are taking place in Slovenia and some of the bordering countries (I guess also in Croatia and Austria as well), with 2nd of May being a national holiday (to my knowledge, we are the only country in the world to have this day as a work free day). So, with that in hand my family decided to spend the elongated weekend on the coast, in our summer apartment that we own in Piran.

With weather forecast being relatively shabby for the nearby area, we've decided to make it a day trip to the tip of the Istrian peninsula, cape Kamenjak.
Kamenjak is a relatively beautiful natural park, home to many different animal species (most prominently the Mediterranean monk seal) and a place which is loaded with tourists in the summer months, with having some of the most striking beaches in Istria. To my belief, it's also practically the only place in the broader area that could allow cliff diving, with having the water underneath deep enough for diver not to break his legs (or head).

With that being said, we've spent a few hours there, visiting a few distinct beaches in 3 different parts of the park. I didn't take much pictures, so you'll have to do with these few.

On our way returning from Kamenjak we had made a small detour, stopping in a nearby coastal resort Medulin. Medulin is home to the only Croatian roller coaster, Family Worm, which is located in small, summer funfair like park, Family Park. We've parked right in front of the park, but since everything was pretty much silent around it, we decided to go on a small walk around the area, with hitting the cred later, when we'd come back. When walking around the small city centre, it came to me that I didn't have any Croatian Kunas, which would be necessary to have if I wanted to ride anything. With some luck, I've quickly located an ATM and made the smallest offered deposit of 100 Kunas (to those, unfamiliar with the said currency, Croatian Kuna is worth about the same as Danish Krone).

After short walk, I finally got my cred. The ride is a basic Wacky Worm, but it has a novelty value of being the only fixed coaster in all of the Croatia.
One ride costs 15 Kunas and in due course I was on, riding in back row of the mostly empty train, with only the front row being occupied. Operator sent us round 3 times, which brought a little bit of embarrassment to my face... Oh, well, if I were counting coasters like Mr. furie does, riding it wouldn't be all that necessary, since it was already the third Wacky Worm I've ridden to date (with the other two being in a funfair in Portorož and Brean Leisure Park).

A note for the possible future visitors. Park doesn't open till 4 p.m. and is only open week-ends outside the peak season.

So, since none of the rides were in any particular interest of mine (nor my parents'), we've made an exit and in about 2 hours' time waved goodbye to Croatia. :)

This made me LOL! Not only do you have all the creds in Croatia, you also have the creds at Brean. Bizarre!

It is annoying when the operator sends riders round on multiple circuits. Once is enough!

The park at Medulin looks like a proper dump, exactly the sort of place where you'd find a +1.

^ Haha, one might've thought that there is something that lures me to the seaside funfair kind-of dumps. :--D

I don't have all the creds in Brean, though, since Shockwave spited me during our visit...
