Well, I just couldn't stay away too long
I arranged to meet up with Joey at Waterloo and we swiftly caught the train to the park. We then waited just inside the entrance for Tim. It was cold with a very bitter wind. Joey made a joke that the first thing Tim says is about how cold it is. Low and behold Joey was right which resulted in much laughter.
Anyway, we wandered over to the Wanyama area. There be some new small enclosure being built, no idea what's going to be inside.
The Mongoose were inside sitting under the lamp, they are so small and cute, they still look petrified of humans though.
Obviously Meerkats were next, they were mainly hiding over in the back of the enclosure but I got to see a few of them for a little while.
In other Wanyama news...Zebra attempts rape...
It was quite amusing, they kept running through the stables and that, shame they weren't able to go out into the field though.
We walked through most of the bird and monkey garden without much interest. Though Joey attempting to feed birds nuts was amusing. The birds must have wondered what the hell was going on as he failed quite spectacularly.
Appears a lot of babies were born in November, these small monkeys gave birth which is amusing as I'd never even seen them in the zoo before
We then found ourselves at the petting zoo which half of which was getting refurbed, how exciting  The petting zoo was actually full of hilarity though. There was the clan of scared ducks..
The chicken that made a strange sound..
The goat that opted to show that it can piss sh*t in front of rather amazed, yet disgusted, kids.
And to top it all off we saw the two random chickens with the oddest hair-dos ever. They also talked to the sheep and they didn't look to enthralled that they were being talked to by the chickens lol.
So overall the petting zoo was awesome, very unexpected. We decided to walk through Market Square, just because we could. They had turned half of the Chessington shop into a cafe which was odd but it kinda worked.
Now, can you spot what's wrong in the below image?
Yep, the Bucaneer boat in not where it should be lol.
Just before you go off on one, I am aware that this is purely for maintenance reasons but it is just amusing to see in person. It looks really small as well which is odd, thought it would be the other way around.
We then said hello to the sealions, I find them very calming and relaxing to watch.
Hadn't been into the creepy caves for a long time so we wandered through that. It was mostly empty, a few lizards and snakes here and there. However it does look like they've started doing it up (again) and maybe more species will be put in there throughout 2011.
We then walked through the trail of the kings. The Lions were sleeping as always, the Leopards looked like they were all inside and then one of the young ones came out for a bit.
The Tigers were out too, one was sitting in the corner and the other one kept pacing up and down which was great for taking photos.
The Gorillas we didn't really see, for some reason there were loads of people in there and we just decided to walk straight past. On our way to the Sea Life centre we got distracted by the Otters. They gave birth to some little ones back in November too. I love how on the sign they're not sure if they gave birth to two or three
The Otters were really cute though and one of the babies kept falling in, started screaming and then the whole pack helped it back out, was really nice to see.
So we then made our way into the Sea Life. I'm getting a tad bored with aquariums now as they're all the same. I took a few nice pics though, especially of the new theming in the main tank. It's all very random, instead of a ship wreck there is a random mayan thing, a plane wreck and lots of coral. I approve of the coral but the other things are a bit weird/don't really work.
In the shop Tim and Joey purchased tubs of sweets as they were fairly cheap compared to normal. Then at the exit they had a tray of fortune cookies and were like "take as many as you want/can". As we were picking loads up and putting them in our bags Tim asked the lady if they were out of date and in a moment of hilarity she incorrectly said "yes", it was all jolly amusing.
We then went and got pizza and then went home. Thanks for reading.
