Can I get queue priority, at Alton towers for a disability

I have really bad muscle damage in my right leg and have to use a crutch to walk about a lot of the time. I was queuing for about half an hour in my local post office and found it hard to stand for so long.

I don't have a Doctors note or anything like that, but I have just got my new Merlin pass and want to go to Alton some time soon. I'm worried I might struggle with the walking about and standing in queues for pro longed period.

Could someone advise me on the best way I can go about this please?

You can register at guest services for a disabled pass. However, if it isn't clear why, they will want a note from a doctor explaining. Across the Merlin group were a lot of people coming in wheelchairs or turning up on crutches to get a pass and then ditching them and abusing the system.

So they do ask for confirmation of a disability. They're not ogres, but they will protect the system.

They also changed it so that the ride op who lets you on writes down the time you got on the ride added to the current queue time. You can't queue skip until that time is up. So everyone gets a fair deal...

When I had both legs in plaster, Alton Towers were superb in helping me. I got free parking in preferred and a free ultimate fast track thing.

All I did was email them before my visit (not asking for anything) to see what their policy was. I assumed it would be like Thorpe's but I was in for a surprise. All this was about 6 years ago though.

Thanks for the info guys, it's ongoing ligament damage I'm having in my right knee. At the Drs a lot about it and never seem to be able to do anything to make it better. some days I can be fine and even go play footy, but others Il need a crutch to walk round for the day. I really just don't want my injury effecting my theme park days. Id lose my mind!!! So before I go you guys would suggest getting a note from my Dr, then emailing Alton before I attend for the day. Which is what I will do. Thanks guys.

Re: Can I get queue priority, at Alton towers for a disabili

I know this thread went quiet a few weeks back, but Alton are now asking that people have a letter from their doctor not just stating that they have a disability/health issue but also the reason WHY they can't queue. They have also changed it recently in that you used to have to show a new letter every season (with a recent date on it) but now they request a letter that is less than 6 months old.

They didn't advertise the changes very openly and you wouldn't know unless you checked their online info on disability passes.. hope you got on okay!
