ECG, could you do that thing where you post the pictures?

ORLANDO --
If you lived it up in the 1950s and '60s, you know all about what went down in those iconic beach resorts. That means you darn well know you weren't just sipping on milkshakes.

So the idea behind Universal Orlando's 4th and newest resort is to take you back into a "retro reality" (with classic cocktails) while bringing you the contemporary accommodations you're used to.

Cabana Bay Beach Resort opened its doors Monday. We got to scope out the entire place and chat with the resort's first guests.

"We love oldies, so this was it for us," smiled Carla Anderson, visiting from Port Richey. "We're like, 'Oh, this is SO neat!'"

Carla and her husband Mike were sipping on a beer inside Galaxy Bowl, a super retro 10-lane bowling experience. The entire resort - including the Cabana Courtyard - is inspired specifically by the '58-'62 vibe.

"Nostalgia," Mick Anderson said about his reaction when pulling up, "because of the '62 Ford Thunderbird our there. That is so neat."

The Thunderbird is accompanied by 3 other classic cars outside near the main entrance. But there's no valet there. Cabana Bay Beach Resort is considered the "value" and "moderately-priced" hotel of all now-four properties.

Cabana Bay has the largest fitness center, too. It's themed around the "godfather of fitness," Jack LaLanne. The Jack LaLanne Physical Fitness Studio even has photos and artifacts from his family's home.

So if you work out hard, then you can play hard, too, right? Yep. Grab a stool at The Swizzle Lounge or Atomic Tonic.

Since the property is so large, here's a tip: Follow the big blue dots on the ground that will lead you to the theme parks, if you choose to walk. (Complimentary shuttles are also available.)

Construction is not done yet. 600 rooms are ready now. But that number will triple by summer.
