Bellewaerde is a Theme park & Zoo combo in Belgium, about 20miles south of Plopsaland, which made it about 100km from Calais. It was a nice drive to the park, though I was a little nervous at using so many back roads, but everything was fine, it really is so easy to drive abroad. Though a little tip, take a sat-nav, because if it wasn't for my sat-nav, I wouldn't have known about many of the speed limit changes in Belgium (lack of signs!!)
Anyway, on to the park
It was a "nice" park, if a little pricey at 29€ for what it has to offer.
Tivoli cred, covered in smoke machines for halloween. These were all over the park, and were quite effective.
The Belgian lezzas at the front seemed to follow us EVERYWHERE around the park!
The one, and only....
...FIRST Boomerang!
It was alright actually. Even though the chain did try to eject the car we were in from the track! That was horrid!
And not only is it the first Boomerang, its also the parks newest coaster, opening in 1984!
Chloe wasn't looking forward to it...
Me on my first ever ride on a Topple Tower. Yeah, they're dull. Didn't quite get it...
This area of the park was also home to Los Piratas, a clone of Pirate Adventure at Drayton (no pics). Also has a bull themed Breakdance!

Dual loading Log Flume! That was new to me as well. Didn't ride it though, waay to cold for that. And peeps were coming off soaked.
Jungle Mission was new for this year. Just an outdoor boat ride. Its actually a very old ride that was just rethemed really.
Tidal Wave style flume. Obviously we avoided that.
Even though the boats had a roof, I still wasn't bothered tbh.
Never seen this before either, a Dinghy slide were riders had to carry their boat up with them! Needless to say some of the kids were struggling...
Screaming Eagle, identicle to Bounce at Oakwood. Though a bit more fun as you get 2 rides, and as it slowly brings you down at the end, just before you reach the bottom, theres a sudden burst downloads, which surprises everyone!
This picture somes up the parks nice setting. Its mostly like this, which gave it a little Alton feel.
Annoyingly, thats the last pic I have of the park?! Oops. They also had a Vekoma Madhouse (dont like, so didn't bother), Carousel, Waveswinger and small train ride which takes you through the lion and tiger enclosures.
Driving through Ieper to get back to Costa del Calais.
The other half loves Cité Europe, so we will do these little trips again, but I doubt we'll go here again unless something substantial is added. Still got a few other parks in the area to do first, namely Bagatelle. And Plopsa is always worth revisiting, so its unlikely we'll return here anytime soon.
Oh, and it wouldn't be complete with a picture of the Travelodge room
Lush!
Hope you enjoyed!
