Apocalypse floorless

Was the floorless standing a good idea?

There's been a lot of debate about Apocalypse at Drayton Manor. First there was sitting and standing and an unused fifth track. Then they announced the new "floorless standing" or "The fifth element". I have been on Apocalypse standing but not floorless.
I've heard a lot of people say things about the floorless standing but I wanted to see what you thought.
 
It's certainly the best side of the tower, it was a very unique ride when it opened. It's certainly a fantastic idea as far as I'm concerned.
 
Floorless, standing....is there any other way?

Apocalypse is such an amazing ride and is 100% one of the best rides in the country IMO. I have to say that stand-up with floor is more scary but floorless is just so unique. It is very hard to say! I'm not going to vote in the poll because I think it is very differant to stand-up with floorless. I like it just as much as stand-up but I do not think it is alright like it says in the poll, they are both great!
 
I loved apocalypse floorless and enjoyed it the most, having nothing beneath your feet is a wicked feeling, I thought!

I could do floorless over and over again, Stand up just didnt do alot for me mightve been because I was so focused on floorless, i dunno.

Cant wait to do floorless again!
 
Floorless for me is crapola, I hardly even come off the saddle, but I personally find floored much better. It's more intimadating for me, becuase the tilt always makes me feel like my feet are coming off, which I'm really scared of for some reason. However, on floorless, your feet are allready off, so what is there to worry about? I also get shed loads more airtime on floored.

In my opinion, floorless truly sucks.

Well, I think that explains it well.
 
Wrong, standing is worse for that if you don't position it properly, think of it this way - the only way you're coming off it on floorless is airtime, which you don't get, but, on floored, if you position it too low, when you hit the brakes, you bend your knees, and smash that entire area. Not nice.
 
Its unique and a good idea. Its good that they have different ways of freefalling, I prefer Apocalypse to Arcophobia because you can choose how you want to drop on Apocalpse.
 
Prefer the standing-floored side personally. I don't know what it is, but it always scares me more, and I tend to find there's less of a pain factor.

No it isnt, America has a couple of them, it was the FIRST, but it isnt the ONLY one.

I think stand up floored is the best side, whatever people say I still find the floorless version to be nothing more than uncomfortable sitting, it irritates me all the way up, where there's nothing like that with stand up, because, you just ... stand!

Sitting's cool aswell, ofcourse it has less of a "tension factor" than the other two, but I believe it has a smaller height restriction (1.2 m), which means that the younger kid's can still have a go on what is essentially a big assed tower.

EDIT: Where's the "standing is better" poll option? I don't think it was a bad idea, I don't think DMP are crazy, but then again .. I don't think floorless is on par with standing. Or am I just being picky?

I hate tall rides, and I hate drops like this. Urgh, I feel crap just thinking about it. No, freeking way baby, I refuse to do either, and can't see how anyone would want to!!
 
The floorless side is the best by far!
I love it, i hvae about 5 on ride pics from the floorless side! It so cool, and the brakes dont hurt that much, shockwave brakes hurt defo!
 
I can't really vote, because I think it was a great idea, as its something novel, but I prefer the standing-floored side. None of the categories fit.
 
I think the stand up- floored side felt more intense than the floorless, but you're more exposed on the floorless side which obviously adds to the excitement, and it was good that they 'installed' it, but in the end I like the standup-floored side more.
 
Never been to drayton. BUT

hurakan condor has sit down & stand up floorless. Floorless was incredible much better than sitting. So id imagine it is the same on apocalypse

I agree, its the best side of the tower without doubt, its unique as you say and the idea is brilliant. Nobody else came up with it, so well done DMP! Scary ride as well, which adds to the fun.
