This weekend I went to Barcelona with some uni mates (and my housemate), and when the others flew back to Torino we stayed for an extra couple of days and got a coach from Barcelona bus station up to the Pyrenees to get our Andorra country cred <3.
Crappy photo from the Bus of the first signs of snow!
When we arrived, the directions to the hotel were DIRE and it took twice as long as it should have...
Fab van with KFC (<3) in the background. There is no KFC in Italy so we had a FIX.
Fab roundabout that really shouldn't have a middle...
Kate WinSlut would be proud <3
ACTUAL cigarette advertisements!
Andorra is a tax haven, meaning people go there to do duty free shopping. This is like, the 'strip' of the main city Andorra La Vella.
It's so plastic and amazing <3.
The river looked freezing, but amazingly clean.
Actual 5 litre bottles of spirits for fab prices, shame we had baggage restrictions... ryanair </3
See, even the banks think it's a cred <3
The Spa
... and at night, with the Titanic thing in the foreground!
The next day was a lot nicer so we opted for a scenic walk and some more shopping, rather than paying for any activities.
The view from the hotel room...
The shops had thousands and thousands worth of stuff in them...
Street with the Spa in the background <3
Reflection!
Another fab thing (for us) about Andorra is the lack of smoking bans. You can smoke not only in bars, but in the Cinema, Shopping Centres, some shops (it's up to them) etc... So breakfast was coffee & cig in the shopping centre cafe <3
So, fueled on caffiene and nicotine we started walking up the putrid steps to the scenic path.
The path was cute, as were the houses:
Residents have random vegetable patches EVERYWHERE, it's bizzare.
Mincing in the Pyrenees <3
Freaky tomatos! I'm suprised stuff was still growing when it was so cold... In the sun it felt warm, but in the shade (and at night) it was around 0.
From here you could see the whole town, so we felt satisfied enough to head back down and get some food (which was gorge).
(a landslide waiting to happen!)
Then we went back to the bus stop and started the long journey back to Torino via Barcelona... but squeezed in time for a cig in McDonalds just for the experience <3
