After a bumper 2009 season, Alton Towers should be even happier - as they were crowned "best UK theme park/attraction" at a gala evening in London last month.

Um, yeah. I'd have said Alton by a landslide.

Blackpool and Thorpe, both far behind.

(And for the record, I love BPPB and quite enjoyed Thorpe.)

As a 'theme' park, obviously Alton would/should win, its amazing, but then to me, so is BPB, but its in a entirely different league to Alton.

Alton is a better theme park, a but BPB can be a much better day out.

I don't think it even needs toe be officially stated really, it's just common sense, and I think that if it wasn't for moaning locals and planning permission it could be one of the best in the world.

Thats a good point, we haven't heard from the Ropers(?) (Yeah I cant even remember if thats their name, its been that long) in a very long time. Did they buy some ear plugs or move?
