Nemesis Inferno
Strata Poster
A month of being northern and not going to Alton? This had to change, and with the aid of Will, it was sorted...
However, getting up at 7:10 to get the 7:45 bus to Stoke was not fun, indeed travelling to Alton in general this way is not a fun game, as the buses are long and the roads dodgy...
Nevertheless, Stoke was achieved, and the presence of Will made the 45 minute trip on the number 15 less annoying than the X1...
Hello, I am Alton Towers, see how my entrance area is the only part that I have bothered to decorate for Halloween, but you will be forced to endure Twilight related music... :|
Indeed Alton failed on the theming front, however as it is Alton, and the lure of B&Ms is strong, this factor can be overlooked in the total ‘good day’ scenario...
Hello, I am Will, do you like my hat?
We do indeed Will... Even if it is big, muffly, and now residing in Oblivion’s pit somewhere
Witches were also afoot at the park, but only seen one other time throughout... Alton is massive though...
Hello, I am a SW7 sign, not only have people been silly and called me by the number allocated to the lost wooden coaster, I can also make enthusiasts go mad at a rate of 200 goons per second, and I haven’t even done much yet...
With the prospect of Oblivion, Will was excited...
Who knows what may happen here in the future... Let alone the tent...
The weather was muggy northern stuff, and hence made this photo of Oblivion turn out nicely... I prefer dark skies to blue skies for this reason...
Here is also the only thing that related to Halloween on the rides, skellies on the mesh fencing... Cool, but indeed didn’t really get helped by the lack of alternative theming...
This photo was a complete accident as to how it turned out, but I really like the way the train got lit up by the on ride photo...
Walking past the towers, we saw this gentleman stood in the window, he was not greatly amusing, so we moved on...
The towers themselves are very awesome, and provide the best backdrop to a park I’ve ever been too... Keep your fake Disney castles...
They are however not as awesome when there is a scare-maze involved...
Intamin land is growing...
Just as long as SW7 is better than this, one will be happy...
Sacrifices must be made, and result in the following images of the construction...
It does look very nice so far, and as I mentioned in the construction topic, the bit after the indoor section could be very entertaining...
Will was entertained by Hex, I now believe that the Earl swears in the video at the old woman, and it’s creepiness increases two fold when the corridor has light, but the Octagon has none... Me and Will also discussed the idea of Hex Live, and look what happened, Cloud Cuckoo Land took our idea, so if you are reading this Alton, royalties should be sent to the back alley I discussed with you in my e-mail...
Ahem...
The good thing about Terror of the Towers is the back door is used for exiting Hex, resulting in rather rare images like the two above...
Bored of this side of the park, we walked to B&M heaven, and Air which has no pictures until later...
After this 12pm hit, and we elected to Duel Lively at the expense of both our dislikes of people annoyingly jumping at us...
It was good, the actors were indeed better the first time than the second in the queue, yet vice versa the second time... Will was confused as to why they were all cockney though, and also disliked Bellatrix Lestrange... The hooded people were amusing, and on our first go caused confusion as people were not sure if they were meant to remain on the platform to interact or get on the ride... Also the one who told me to get into the car was silly as there was no empty car available, so we had to wait...
After the Mine Train, lunch times were held at Mutiny Bay...
We were invaded by a pirate, to which Will declared pirate time, and it was then argued as to whether or not pirate time was better than ninja time...
Although the pirate suggested naked ninja time, which did not want, and we ran for it to Sea-Life times, which are definitely better than naked anything times...
In addition to fish times, duck times are also good...
Spinball times, are not good however, as it breaks down and is not as good as Fury or Winja’s...
It does seem to be enjoyed by this person though...
Our loop of the park complete, we did Oblivion again, then back to Intamin Land to look at SW7 again and enter geek mode...
We were entertained by the monks as well, with awesome noises...
Construction actually occurring in front of us, supports into the deep hole inside the building...
We also declared that SW7 will not be called Surrender or Demon, but Twilight – The Ride, and unfortunately would have a link with the film, where the indoor section involves Robert Pattison attacking the car and hence the world’s first...
CHAINED UP ACTOR ATTACKING THE RIDE CAR AS YOU MOVE OFF...
Will agrees, whilst making Duel related guitar noises...
We did Duel Lively again, and were entertained again by the like of strange child and spade-girl, however Bellatrix was still there and Will still did not want...
Nemesis was done again, followed by Air and waiting-for-darkness faff...
Will tied his shoelaces after much annoyance with Nemesis untying them... However it was good to hear the random child in front exclaim about its awesomeness, expect them to appear ever so soon on the forums...
Typical queue line of the day really... Awesome...
Will enjoys the sit-down game...
Until the weather turns foul and warm/dry times are required by the Skyride station...
The rain however did improve the speed of night and with relative haste we moved to do Air first...
Before moving onto Nemesis, thrice, twice in the back, once in the front...
Needless to say, it was of course running amazingly well, especially after the rain, and once again establishes itself as number one...
Looks pretty at night as well...
As does Duel...
Butler loves the lack of queue...
POV of Gloomy Wood, and indeed the blurriness probably makes it easier to see somehow... It was silly times indeed...
Oblivion was done twice right on 7 in order to complete my Alton night ride collection... And was also running amazingly well, making sure it stays in my top 10...
Will was very entertained by it all...
Alton at night it certainly awesome looking...
And that is it, a rather awesome if long day helped by lack of queues and very entertaining times with Will, hopefully he will add on his thoughts on the day to this topic, and I hope you read through it all...
