Alton Towers Ticketing Advice

The Alton Towers website is confusing when it comes to tickets. It allows me to add 5 (assuming 5, possibly 6, but going with 5 for now)

5 normal tickets, no special features concerning them comes to £173.25 which is £34.65 each. However, they do a group ticket which is apparently for groups of 7-9 people yet for some reason allows you to add 5 tickets (strange) and results in a price of £161.70 or £32.34 each and gives you an early ride time feature allowing access to rides an hour before normal guests. Which would be 9am, since the park is due to open at 10am.

So, I'm confused. Can we do the group ticket or do we need 7-9 people?

Remember there may be a (albeit shorter) queue for prebooked tickets. But seriously, the queue for main tickets will be, say, 5 minutes tops if you arrive sufficiently early.

There's always one or two booths with little to no queues whenever I go (and the rest jam-packed :? ).

Doesn't matter anyway, you're still going to have to **** walk miles or queue ages for the monorail anyway
