July 29th 2009 : Ashes Fever hits the Towers
The Daily Mail newspaper have revealed that Alton Towers are supporting England's Ashes Bid by offering free entry to the first 100 guests who turn up wearing full Cricket Whites this Thursday, 30th July - to coincide with the start of the 3rd Ashes Test at Edgbaston.
The park's aquarists have even named one of their new Spider Crabs after all-rounder Freddie Flintoff. You can see the new arrivals now at the Sharkbait Reef by SEA LIFE aquarium in Mutiny Bay.
This latest PR stunt follows a variety of free-entry initiatives in recent years, some of which, such as the "A Level Failures" stunt have proved controversial.
Meanwhile, Alton Towers is open until 7pm every day from now until 31st August as a special summer treat for day guests.
