Rumours coming in from towers street and towers times there has\is a minor fire in the towers ruins. Not confirmed but a fire truck has been seen going through the village.
"Firefighters have been called to Alton Towers following an incident during the theme park's annual fireworks display.
A spokesman for Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service said two fire engines and a ladder platform had been dispatched after embers strayed onto a roof.
He said: "We've got a quite small incident at Alton Towers. It's just some embers in a roof from one of either the fireworks or the bonfire that they've had."
The spokesman added that there were no flames or a burning fire at the resort in Alton, Staffordshire, which attracts hundreds to its annual fireworks event each year.
Each year the resort celebrates the end of the theme park season with a large display, described as the "ultimate fireworks event" on its website.
The park stays open until 9pm over three days, November 2 to 4, so visitors can experience rides in the dark.
"It is standard procedure at the end of every show for someone to check the entire zone in which fireworks would have fallen," said operations director Mark Kerrigan.
"This vindicates the short delay that our guests experience before we let them back on the rides.
"As a result of this discovery we kept the affected area clear of guests until Staffordshire Fire Services were able to extinguish the smouldering material."
That's not going to be worth an insurance payout. Must try harder next time. The spokesman added that there were no flames or a burning fire at the resort in Alton, Staffordshire, which attracts hundreds to its annual fireworks event each year.
