Alton Towers #6

Giga Poster
Today I went to Towers for the 6th time this year with two mates, and as it is very busy at the moment didn't know what to expect in terms of queues.

So, we got there at around half 9 for some ERT, went straight to Oblivion got two rides on that, back row though, as my mate seems to be cursed of never getting on the front. :( Then we headed to Rita to find it was closed all day, which was a bit of a wounder. So, we headed over to Forbidden Valley where we got on Air and Nemesis with short queues, back rows. :) All three coasters being as enjoyable as ever.

Next we headed our way back down the left side of the park, catching rides on Blade, Duel, Runaway Mine Train and the Rapids. We also went on Marauder's Mayhem for the first time since it has been re-themed, which was a nice little teacups ride.

By this time it was nearly time for dinner, but we headed over to Spinball first as this was the only other coaster we wanted to ride. The board said it was a 45 minute queue, so we thought we hadn't queued for anything else, we might aswell, but the queue was longer than we realised but decided to just stick it out after we got in, and somehow my mate said he would get 500 on each game in the queue, and he got it on all of them, it was ridiculous! However, the ride was a bit rough and threw me about a bit more than normal.

So, by this time, we were all really hungry so we went and got a burger king, which was very nice, although the service is pants. So after we looked at queue boards and Nemesis, Oblivion and Air all had 60 minute queues, and we couldn't be bothered to queue that long so I'm not really sure of the order, but we went on the skyride to somewhere and ended up just messing around and going on Duel twice more which my mate battered on, went in Sharkbait Reef and went on Charlie and the Chocolate Factory which was a pretty fun ride, especially the elevator bit.

It was now something like half 4 so we headed up to Forbidden Valley, to get our last few rides of the day, where we did Air once, and Nemesis three times, with the last ride giving me my fiftieth ride on Nemesis!

Overall, very enjoyable day, with some funny times like the smell of chlorine and counteracting the spin on teacups, plus loads more!

Ride count:

Nemesis x4
Air x2
Oblivion x2
Spinball x1
RMT x1
Duel x3
Rapids x1
Blade x1
Marauder's Mayhem x1
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory x1
Sharkbait Reef x1

Sounds like you had another good day at the Towers. Your friend must've played those games in the Spinball queue a lot to be able to get a good score every time on all of them.

Thanks it was a good day, and I don't know how he did he said he'd never got the highest score on any of them before. He goes, bet you I'll get 500 on this game, and I said no chance, and then he went and did it on every one!

Of all the times I have riden Oblivion, it is evenly split between front and back row rides, my last was at the front, and before that was two back, then front before that. So looks like next time it will be back.

Rita was closed for you, and I can't say I'm surprised. It has only ever been open once when I have visited. Good job it was only Rita that was closed and not something good.

Going soon, so I'll have a report up, and this reminds me, I'll make a Blackpool report later aswell.
