Having realised that the last time I visited towers was back in 2000, and that I had a couple of weeks spare before my next job starts, I decided I should make use of my annual pass.
Due to the stripped down bus services this year, arrived just before 10, so while I couldn't make use of the ERS, I didn't need it today.
First up, and due to the skyride being out of action, I walked towards forbidden valley (seems strange to day, but I'd kinda forgotten just how long the walk there was!), making a stop at duel on the way, got the highest score in my car, but was the only one there!! Nice start to the day, but I miss the old haunted house :'(
Then got my sub terra cred. Could I be the only one who doesn't think it totally sucks? No tower of terror - but I quite liked the overall theming and actors throughout., Then both nemesis and air, front and back on each - nemesis is still as awesome as ever, maybe should have got a couple more rides later on (oh well - next time). I think it was the first time I've done air on the front row, and I definitely prefered it.
Skyride still closed, so I [strike]got a bit lost in the valley[/strike] did the cross valley walk to hexy epicness, lunch and the slight turdiness that is Charlie, followed by ice age 4d which was even more turd than most 4d cinemas.
Did Front and back on Rita - really can;'t see why people complain about this, even at the back it's only slightly jolty, and compared with furius baco, it's like riding a TGV. Same on 13 - love the drop and backwards bit, but the outside could be soooo much better.
Then walked to X-sector where there were a couple of dodgy characters taking pictures of Smiler - turned out it was Rach and Mushroom! The ride is looking awesome! after a brief pause, had a couple of goes on the still ace oblivion, and wound down with squirrel nutty and a coffee, before a bit of shopping and getting out in time for the 4:23 bus to uttoxeter (which was about 15 minutes late).
