Alton - 21st July - Rain, rain and fire

Of course, the fire happened after closing time, but still...

Not going to do a long TR as I did one last week for Alton, but it was a lot quieter, if still rather packed, and it did not stop raining all day

Got there at 9.50, my family abandoned me, went to Nemesis. First train of day (only just) front row. Fun. Went round single rider which was empty for another 30 mins and got on another 9 times. Then Air, then Ripsaw (which I had never rode before).

That's all I remember of ride order xD

Ride Count:

Nemesis x16 (x1 Front)
Spinball x4
Rita x4
Skyride x3 (Including being on one of the last gondolas as they kept it open 'till 6pm for once  )
Air x2 (x2 Front)
Oblivion x2
Duel x1
Hex x1
Rapids x1

Though my ride count says otherwise, it was more of a relaxed day at Alton where I wasn't rushing around going on ride

Good Points:

Alton staff very friendly as usual.
Nobody used the Nemesis single rider for the first 30 mins, except me.
Most people begun leaving at around 3 because of the rain.
Saw something happening on the construction site (see topic)
Finally got on Ripsaw...twice. Standard fun.
I got my highest ever score on Duel (65000 exactly, not particularly high, but still)

Bad Points:
Chav's pulled out something on me
I had to sit Rita back row (Ow!!)
I was knackered for once..
It was raining ALL DAY with only a 15 min stop in it.

Any who, no pictures as I didn't take my camera due to the vast amount of water falling from the sky would have killed it.

I dunno. About 3 of them pushed infront of me and I said 'Erm, excuse me, I'm infront of you', they responded in a chav way by saying 'Zoop, zoop...shank..'etc etc, before one of them had something in my back. I dunno what, and I didn't look around to see what. But luckily, I was at the front of the queue and I went on before it turned nasty.

Should have told the ride op... If you were with a group of 50 :)

^ lo, yeah. But I knew if I told the ride ops, it probably would have caused more problems and they would have told their 'possy' to 'go shank' me :P

Bloody chavs

Why do they need to carry shanks or A I Got Unstable Nuts device.

Is it becouse there soft want to look ard or are just so dumn that they look more like a looser than a Wanabe G boi.

As long as you don't know them from outside the park then I would have told one of the members of staff. When you go to a theme park you have a right to feel safe and telling somebody could stop them from doing it to someone else.

They were probably trying to act all hard and maybe didn't even have a knife. At least you got away okay.

most of the time its a pen/pencile or a twig from a tree that they prod you with. are even a toy gun/ water pistol they got in the games huts.

Sorry for DP, but I thought I need to mention this.

I got tree grab mid-ride on Nemesis about 4 times :P I got it whenever I sat on the right of the train and it happened on the first helix after the first wingover. It was very painful and left red markings on the palm of my hands

That thing in your back was probably a mobile phone... I've had it done to me when I worked at Chessington, so I buss-a-move on him and had him restrained while I radioed security. Sierra-Support training came in handy then.

Awww, was Nemesis running supa-doopa fast in the rain? <3

Happened to me at PWH for Wipeout, I blocked two of them from joining the rest of da posse, and I said "I think it's obvious your'e not meant ot queue jump, everyone's been waiting here for ages" and all I got was "What's wrong wid u mate, we're jus gonna go queue up wid our mates like." (uuurrgghh!), and I said (this was the last day of school term) "My mates are up there but I'm not oging to join them." and all I got was "Shut up, shut up, shut up", I could of smacked that bugger, he then went bck to where he was before, but when I was at the gfar end of the queue he desided it was a good idea to take his friends under the ropes and get near the front.

WHY WON'T ANYONE DO OR SAY ANYTHING! It only really works when a group of you are having a go at them, and everyone just stood there like prunes :x

I have noticed this aswell recently at Alton, not just on Nemesis, but on Air and RMT as the trees are growing really close to the track now.

Yaeh, usually I do tell on queue jumpers, but I really couldn't be arsed to deal with the problems that it would have caused afterwards.

That Helix is just the sex, its probably my favourite moment on any coaster.

If you sit on the right hand seat any row if you stick your hand out as far as you can you hit aload of twigs its brilliant but painful

Also on the same helix if you sit on the left hand side stick your leg out and look up, you think for sure you are about to kick the monorail before being slung towards the station and just missing that.

Its all just accelerated if its raining :--D

Wow, spooky, I was there that day too. Making a quick report here later.

While it is being talked about here, Nemesis was insane, the rain realy made it special, although I didn't hit a tree. Never blacked out on it, but the helix is incredibly intense, especialy in the rain.

Alton has a chav problem, but I don't want to see it go like Blackpool and have airport style security at the entrance.

Same. After all, Alton is a family park and always has been. If I went with my family only to see large metal detectors, security and large, bald muscular men shouting 'Any weapons?', it most certainly would put me off.

However, Alton cannot be compared to Thorpe, which is Chav ridden.
