How does an S&S Screamin' Swing work?

    Don't think they ever did.

How does an S&S Screamin' Swing work?

Rush has always had its own pair of compressors.

How does an S&S Screamin' Swing work?

Oh, you're talking specifically about a mechanical linkage. I misread that part. You're correct. However, there is a specific piece of software that caters for that. It's used to adjust the valve timings of each swing dependant on how they're loaded, amongst other variables, in order to keep...

    Dreamland Margate’s Future

They currently don’t have any staff and are trying to scramble together a team to operate the few rides that they have left, as well as a team to maintain them

    Dreamland Margate’s Future

From what I understand, their events don't actually bring in much money. In fact, I'm pretty certain that the "Demon Dayz" event (their largest to date) with Gorillaz actually lost money. I wouldn't say that their funding and ownership structure is complicated anymore, since Sands Heritage now...

    New rides @ small parks

Yesterday, Great Yarmouth Pleasure Beach announced that they will be opening a Zamperla Rockin’ Tug for the 2022 season. The ride has come from Dreamland Margate again, and was part of the eight ride package deal that the park received from Zamperla in 2018.

    New rides @ small parks

Not sure if anyone has posted this anywhere else, but Great Yarmouth Pleasure Beach have put up a teaser for their new ride: It’s almost certainly the Zamperla (manufactured by Soriani) Midi-Discovery Revolution 16 (with the optional counterweight so it can invert) from Dreamland Margate...

    Dreamland Margate’s Future

Literally any reputable companies that do mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or carpentry would be able to do a sufficient job. There’s not really that much to vintage rides that’s “specialist” so to speak, except for maybe the artwork. Even then, that sort of work can be contracted...

    Dreamland Margate’s Future

The reason Screamland 2015 was so good was because it was so wildly over budget! 2018 was a bit of an odd year, the original buildings that housed the mazes were unavailable that year, so the tents were brought in last minute. 2019 was a great year though, the right balance overall and some...

    Dreamland Margate’s Future

The Brooklands Speedway and the Caterpillar were the worst of the two rides that were “refurbished” by Littleboys. The others were already in relatively good condition and in working order before being touched by Littleboys (Gallopers - Hop Farm in Kent, Hurricane Jets - Ex-Carter’s Steam Fair...

    Dreamland Margate’s Future

You’re right about the protection of the site. I believe it was 99 years from 2015, but now only 10 years from 2020.

    Dreamland Margate’s Future

I think it’s no secret that Dreamland Margate is currently struggling. After 2019 being their most successful year to date since the reopening of the reimagined Dreamland, with over 650,000 visitors that year, the pandemic starting in 2020 seemed to send the park to a grinding halt. You can see...

How does an S&S Screamin' Swing work?

It’s oil mist. Each cylinder is injected with a shot of automatic transmission fluid to lubricate it every 20 swings. The excess is drained from a tap at the bottom of the cylinder every morning and disposed of, but it will puff out oil vapour as it exhausts out of the top of the cylinder as it...

Dreamland, Margate: New rides for 2018

Forgot to mention that the drop tower should now be open also. Zamperla engineer was there last week fine tuning it and running through the ride cycles (5 in total). Some really decent long cycles and some relatively intense ones too. Makes a nice change from the standard S&S ones seen in the UK.

Dreamland, Margate: New rides for 2018

The Zamperla Endeavour (suspended enterprise thing) and Air Race have now tested. Soriani who have manufactured the rides as Sub-Contract from Zamperla will continue load testing these for a few more days. Everything else is now open.

    M&D's Pinfari RC40 "Cobra" for Oakwood (2017?)

Apologies if this has been posted elsewhere (I did have a brief look but gave up pretty quickly). According to RCDB http://rcdb.com/14113.htm it looks like M&D's Pinfari RC40 (previously known as Express/Cobra) is moving to Oakwood (apparently being assembled as of mid-July 2016). Yay, I...
