The thing about Alpie to me was not that it was bad just that it wasn't as good as I was expecting it to be, at least the first time I rode it. A case of hype killing the ride maybe. It was solid and the theme is really top notch, love the station and the cars, but I'm not sure it's top 10 for me.
Re: Knoebels |"Flying Turns"| In house construction
Nah I suppose you're right, but this one's different! When something like the Flying Turns is maybe going to open after 7 years you get kinda antsy
Re: Knoebels |"Flying Turns"| In house construction
Me too, every email notification is getting my hopes up that there's going to be actual news about the Flying Turns when it's just bickering.
Re: Rumoured Dollywood New 2014 Coaster
This is what everyone said about Flashback being doomed at SFNE when Goliath came along. And yet, we still have two boomerangs in the park a few hundred feet apart.
Would be nice if they put something up in Blazing Fury's place though, literally...
Re: Knoebels |"Flying Turns"| In house construction
If they're gonna open it they better open it already. I don't want to sit through an eighth offseason of "ugh tear it down already" and "maybe next year!" please...
Re: Six Flags Magic Mountain | "Full Throttle" | multi launc
To be fair there really isn't anything else good about the Backlot Stunt Coasters, or Flight of Fear for that matter.
I hit my arm on a small branch on Scorpion at BGT a few years ago. It stung a little bit but it wasn't serious. There was also that time a few weeks ago I had my arms up on Matterhorn's lift hill and there is actually a part of the ceiling going up low enough to hit that way.
As far as...
Re: Six Flags Magic Mountain | "Full Throttle" | multi launc
That is the most shoehorned in music and the biggest waste of a sountrack ever. Five seconds of Pink Floyd and Ozzy dubstep. Eugh.
I can't wait to see how the pleasant and efficient SFMM ride ops work in the hellhole desert sun in...
The only rides I really feel compelled to go back to King's Dominion for are Volcano and I305. Canada's Wonderland couldn't really be much worse, (and in fact a friend of mine told me it was quite good and nothing like an American Cedar Fair park) but if you do go to KD Busch is right next door...
CCI is really unique in my experience. Boulder Dash is a world class coaster of course and they get a lot of fanfare for their Indiana Beach coasters. I thought Excalibur up in Maine had a fun first half (albeit kind of rough) but a retracked away second half that was boring. GhostRider is cool...
Cedar Point is definitely at the top of my list and probably most people's lists. It's got history and a location on the water which set it apart from a lot of the other CF parks that are downright boring cookie cutter concrete wastelands (like Dorney). It also has maXair which is possibly my...
I visited Dorney Park on a night where it was completely deserted and everything was a walk-on and I'm glad. Would have been pissed if I had waited for anything other than Talon there. It's like your average Cedar Fair park except with an even worse ride selection. Steel Force is boring (are all...
