The last thing we need is politicians getting involved and endless bureaucratic delays - third runway anyone? Give Universal the green light and carte blanch to do anything
A racing element would only be good if the cars had some sort of onboard game to play, that you start playing in the queue, where the results have a real world affect on the train launch speeds so your actions actually decide which train wins in the dual.
And then years later Disney said they regretted not building the resort in the UK or Spain. Seems to be Disney’s loss is Universal’s gain.
On Universal, you have a Govt in desperate need of cash. The tax implications of this alone would be a strong enough argument to back it.
I’m hoping when this gets built, they decide to build a 500ft drop gigacoaster from B&M that is an airtime machine. Run 5 trains for capacity and just completely **** all over Hyperia and Merlin. And have half the spinning just good measure that would be cool doing some of the ride backwards and...
The same as the last one. You have to be incredibly brave and have the political nous of a pack of crayons to be against a project of this magnitude. If anything, they’ll try promoting it to showcase how good they are in their role and take the credit
The second reason is Universal has obvious benefits that are easily communicated. Convincing people of the benefits of a costly road/train track paid for by the taxpayer is difficult. Selling 10,000 extra jobs and £10bn investment from private companies is easy.
The third one is the name. Even...
It’s not as if there isn’t precedent for doing it before - Marvel and the entire island at IoA and The Simpsons (both arguably having more global recognition than James Bond)
There will definitely be crossover but there will also be new things as you see in all parks
I’m just hoping it doesn’t go the way of Disneyland Paris…
What are the main Orlando IPs, Harry Potter aside as that’s obvious? I can think of Mario, Transformer, Fast&Furious, Jurassic Park
An entire island at IoA is effectively Disney IP and allowed in an agreement for that park. I’d be highly surprised if Disney allow Universal to use Marvel...
I have a crazy idea. If the buildings must stay, retheme them to look like Italian buildings and have a James Bond-inspired launch coaster based off a car chase through the streets from No Time to Die. Or do similar but have a Jason Bourne-inspired chase. That would allow a whole new area of the...
I'd love to see a mini-London there to include Johnny English-themed rides. There are so many unique attractions that could be made to fit in with scenes from the film.
It’s a kiddie coaster on steroids. For a child who just meets the height limit (1.2m which is the average height of a 7-year-old), this is going to be the best thing ever. It’s also not completely dull for the parents like usual kiddie coasters
