That's a bit concerning, that wasn't even close to clearing the outerbank. Not like the previous times it's valleyed where it's nearly got around.
Could this have been down to the wind? Or something caught in a wheel assembly perhaps?
(edit: Just occurred to me that the train had probably been...
I believe it was actually the existing Intamin track on the entry and exit of the tophat. Perhaps the trains Zamperla installed have something to do with the reason behind it.
Ryan actually says in the video that these aren't welds. They're instead marks from heating the track for what's seemingly track straightening. Really tiny adjustments to perhaps make the ride smoother.
If they are going down the "brave it backwards" route I'll be really interested to see how they handle the queue line logistics. There's practically no spare space and the current setup seems fairly permanent.
In some ways it might be easier to just run both trains backwards for a couple of years.
I set my record on the 6th October last year at Thorpe with 50 laps on Stealth in about two hours. My total ride count that day across the park for that day was 72. Being a single rider rocks!
It valleyed on Wednesday 19th June. They had the train off a couple of days later. It reopened on one train operations on the 22nd then was back on two trains by the 23rd for their "Golden Day" event.
That's not entirely a fair comment.
I don't know about this time but the first time it valleyed they had been running it with almost all the dummies (as they do every morning), slowly emptying and removing them row by row before sending empty trains.
The first time they even had staff loaded...
It's great to hear that Voltron's roughness is being tamed. That gives me hope that Hyperia may get some work over the off season to get it running like it was on opening day. Every time I've visited it's just seemed slightly more rattly than it was the previous time.
Regarding the piece of train body trim that has been removed from the back of both trains, I noticed that the mounting brackets for this piece seem to have sheared or been cut on train 2. The brackets had just been removed from train 1.
Delayed opening this morning (1.5 hours late) with people in a cherry picker looking at the entrance to the outerbank.
Doing something with a very large tool or stick. They were moving in a way that somewhat resembled a ratcheting movement?
That mark has been there since at least July 13th as that's when I first noticed it and took this (fairly naff) photo.
I'm sure if it was anything more serious than a bit of paint chipping off Thorpe would have been on it by now.
