Not a coaster but "weird flat rides" doesn't probably warrant it's own thread. I just discovered that HUSS made one single "Frisbee XL" model, that's pretty hard to find any information about, especially hard to find videos of (because it's a regional park in Korea that's SBNO, I haven't found...
I've heard this from many people now, that Siren's Curse is the best themed in the park, which is kinda wild for a ride that was such a last minute addition, usually rides are planned out for wayyyy longer than Siren's Curse was.
^ Oh that is WEIRD. The gondola would've looked silly wrapped around the whole tower as well but those gondolas that aren't nearly as wide as the tower moving independently like an old fashioned Intamin drop tower, even weirder looking. Will say, does the tower really need to be that thick? The...
Aren't there one or two decent wooden coasters in the UK too that are at those parks you can only go to if you have kids? I'd self spite those at least 😁
On the Tomasoni Meccanica website you can find in-progress photos of a similiar ride that also says 360 on the pendulum in the same font as the ride in said accident except with a smaller gondola, to where it seems for that park they just produced the same but with a much larger gondola and no...
That arm was way too spindly to hold up a gondola with that many seats. Poor riders, I hope as many of them as possible were spared the worst injuries. There's a certain 'look' to the illegally operating Indian/Chinese made ride companies (illegal as in they don't have the permission to operate...
I think the only large scale coaster I self-spited was in 2019 in Germany when I skipped Limit at Heide because of the SLCs reputation, however I did it as Toxic Garden a couple months back and loved it, so. Whoops, I guess.
Strongly questioning the sanity of adults (or even teens) who'd...
I'm not sure if the issue is the height of the lift hill, Jinma just has a habit of making coasters with really high friction that lose speed really quickly. The wheel bogies do squeak once or twice so I don't know if it's an issue related to those or what.
I sure have neglected this thread, so day 3, May 7th: Hansa Park. WARNING: obviously spoilers for Kärnan and Novgorod.
Woke up for the first time in my hostel, oh god the air was dry in there. Germans swear by doing lüften (or however you spell it) but I'm not used to indoor air this dry, my...
Oh. Kinda disappointing if it truly is a dark ride replacing a coaster, especially when Jetline was my favourite thing at the park. Dark rides are fun and all, but they're not ever gonna be worth the same as a coaster or big flat ride to me unless it's like Efteling or something.
^ I love how the title says "Triple launch rollercoaster" even though it's only two launches.
But on that, that's really cool, actually. My whole problem with swing launches is that they generally start at the beginning of the launch track, and the first launch has essentially no force at all...
Not to dig this thread up from the grave but idk that there's a generic 'fun anecdotes' thread in general so here goes a couple tidbits about the ride on it's second year.
So on Swingi if there's an e-stop, it uses the friction brake rather than energy recuperation (that it normally uses) to...
Glad you enjoyed Särkänniemi, I'm not a huge fan of the place, but hopefully the new big waterfront Vekoma will be the best coaster there (it wouldn't be hard, tbh) especially since it'll properly use the park's location unlike a lot of the rides actually. Also yes, the modern take on a whip is...
Damn, yeah. I have no idea why they have a policy like that or why the staff seems to truly believe in it's importance. I'd be really curious to find out if it was always there since it opened 10y ago at the park or if it happened after like one kid vomited and their parents complained, or...
^ I was just thinking about this one the other day and wondered if it was open yet. The shape of the track means it has to have proper bogeys rather than Disk'os which don't need much articulation, so it can't be as simple to maintain either, curious to know how affordable this is as a ride.
Glad you enjoyed the views! Funnily enough I've never really seen those parts of Tampere, even though I've been there plenty of times. I've just somehow been there for completely other reasons or wandered around different parts, even though I've missed a lot of the prettiest bits. I personally...
I don't understand waiting for more than an hour for a ride, let alone six. Jesus christ, that's like most of your park day covered there, that's almost a full day of work at a normal job!
They weren't running VR that day (if they were there would be a ton of VR headsets hanging on those hooks on the wall and they'd offer you one when you sit down) which is why you didn't notice it. There's three VR movie options for it, but I prefer riding without cause VR makes me nauseous and I...
Wild to see a park opening like this with just.... dirt everywhere. Also, I can kind of (only kind of) forgive Energylandia for having so many multiples of the same ride type since they have 19 coasters in total, but I don't understand a park with only four coasters having two of them be very...
